To me a gun is just a tool , like a car or a knife , the gun its self is not bad but the people who use it. However many people cant see that. I my self have never heard of a gun loading its self and aiming at a human and shooting its self. It seems to me its always the human behind it thats evil . Much like a car , you dont see people blaming the car for driving drunk or running into crowds of people or going to fast.
What it boils down to is the anti-gun crowd simply wants to create more and more laws and regulations to try to make owning a gun for anyone as difficult as possible. We have over 20,000 gun laws on the books already. If we would start enforcing existing laws that would be sufficient. We do not need more laws that will not be enforced but will only serve to be a burden upon legal gun owners. Anti-gun people know this but if they tell you they're not seeking to ban guns they are lying to you
I don't really subscribe to "bad" and "good" per se. I don't believe that guns are bad themselves and I don't think most people are bad. Some are misguided and a off-center but most are not pathologically and innately evil. Further, I'd argue that anything can be a "weapon" with enough anger behind someone's choices so I don't believe it would really be a reasonable solution banning all guns because we'd find a way to be destructive and hurtful to one another without them. The part I don't get is we've been around for awhile and haven't seemed to moved much beyond hatred and wars. None of that has solved anything so we might benefit from some brainstorming more positive and productive problem-solving solutions.
I’ve always doubted the sincerity of the anti-gun crowd they don’t actually care about victims of gun violence. If they did they would actually propose effective solutions to the problem like enforcement of gun laws that exist and investing in law enforcement. Instead they just make meaningless political statements to pander to their base and stick it to their opposition.
The root mentality of democrats goes back to the European days of kings and queens. They have no use for states. The first step is to remove guns from citizens. True, citizens really can seriously use them to fight or make political change, but they think they can. This type of empowerment thinking causes resistance to central control. On the contrary, the population must be convinced they are powerless. It’s hard to drive that argument home when you realize citizens think they know more than you do.
Of course it is the criminal behind the gun. People want to keep guns away from criminals and make it hard or impossible to attain. I think gun ownership is a right. But it is also a problem.
My opinion is this..... The right to bear arms is a constitutional right. In order to change that law is to change the constitution. To change the constitution is dangerous to all of my civil rights. Who knows what kind of tyranny could be placed upon our citizens by changing the constitution? I think free speech would also suffer egregiously. Even if I were to think it is an outdated law it is better left alone and enforced. All rights granted by the constitution should be enforced. Otherwise the constitution is just a peice of old paper worthy of only being a collecters item.
It is a matter of trust....I DONT TRUST EITHER PARTY TO CHANGE MY CONSTITUTION. AND MY CONSTITUTION SHOULD STAY PRISTINE IN THESE TERRIBLE TIMES.
My woman got me a book on Florida gun laws its 550 pages . Florida is one of the friendly gun states . Illinois is one of the most restrictive states and has a huge problem in Chicago with gun violence . Your comparing a nuke to a gun ? lol isn't that a bit extreme.Your now talking apples and oranges That reminds me of the guy here that said Trump was a modern Stalin . Stalin killed between 20 and 60 million people and was a commie dictator.
Exactly!!!!!!! And... Canada should have some variation of a Second Amendment........ we need it....... The Canadian province of Alberta could well lead Canada in that direction......... or there could be consequences in Ottawa......
Guns are an object, a tool. I have 15 guns, none have ever shot someone. None has even gone off by itself. I suspect if I left them all alone they could all sit for 100, 1,000, 1,000,000 years and more and they would never even fire a single round by themselves.
Guns are bad the same way that woodchippers are bad. Both are benign until a PERSON shoots you with one or feeds you into the other...
hope who gets better whos bett who the one whos bad the guy who puts you in the wood chipper or the wood chipper ?
