I start threads and participate some in threads here on food. Don’t drink so don’t have much to offer in that department. It is odd there is so little interest in such an important and universally participated in activity as eating. Maybe it’s too apolitical! I’ll bet that’s it. Figure out how to get people to bicker over red vs. blue food or preferred meals in free vs. authoritarian countries and this place will light up!
IDK. Maybe we are all anorexic When I go there it is usually about wine and I would rather drink swamp water than wine.
I'll tell you what; generically speaking, those who participate in the casual chat and food/wine or sports chat, etc., are easier to communicate with in the political realm. It just adds a data point to my premise that when we learn to really talk to each other, we find out we have a lot more in common than we thought.
Absolutely! Very good point. When we get to know each other and relate as fellow humans it makes us all more personable and reasonable!
I think that there are so many folks out there that don't cook anymore this department is useless to them. I love to cook and eat healthy. Most folks don't realize how much crap is in the food they eat. JMO.
I am asking this again. It is a great pity. Do people who are interested in politics not enjoy eating and drinking?
~ We are not very sophisticated around here. We would rather argue about politics, make fun of Trump's hair and post memes.
Sophisticated? You mis-understand me. I just like to eat and drink things that taste well. I am not one of those false "noble" people who think that only the "French cuisine" and over-priced French red wine is worthy to have. And I am NOT IN THE LEAST interested in recipes. I am interested in eating and drinking, but NOT! repeat NOT in cooking myself.
I enjoy food more than politics. I just finished off the latest batch of cottage cheese I made. After a few tries I’ve figured out the ratio of curds, whey and cream that’s perfect for me. That’s the great thing about growing and making your own food—it can be exactly how you like it.
I do NOT cook! I DO NOT COOK! I enjoy eating, but not cooking! Is it unheard of here that one can enjoy eating without also cooking?
And I absolutely HATE it if there are forums with 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 bloody idiotic recipes - and not ONE word about the taste of the actual food!
