The point is, Moscow has always been relatively rich. Prosperity among common folk is not defined by shiny new subway stations or skating rinks - it is defined by the ability of common people to live comfortably. Knowing that 1/5th of your population doesn’t have a functioning toilet, I wouldn’t brag about Moscows success.
By the way, fun fact - here in Tampa, Florida, we have an ice skating rink on a beach. It can be +30C outside and you can dip into the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, put your ice skates on and go skating - it’s all in one place. :)

First, it’s a UN study. Like the WHO, the UN is a political being. I’d like to see USA out of it,if not disbanded altogether.
The beautiful thing about Detroit is that the progressives have been free to destroy this once great city all by themselves for 60 years. During WW11 was truly the arsenal of democracy. We’d all be speaking German now if not for Detroit. But that was then.
Since 1960, all progressive Dems have controlled this once great and rich city. And progressives did what they do, destroy. Truly a case study in how to destroy a city in 60 years or less. No vision. No plan. No change of strategy. Just progressives leading the people down the rathole. But, but the beautiful thing is that they did it to themselves. Keep doing the same thing over and over and over and over yet expecting different results.

Ukraine is a poor state. In addition, a Ukrainian can only kill helpless old people and children. For example, as in Babi Yar or in Volyn.
As a soldier, a Ukrainian is a nonentity. Look, for example, at the Ukrainian SS division "Galitchyna". Once, hitting directly to the front, this division was defeated instantly.
At the same time, the Russians with smaller forces defeated the Ukrainian SS division "Galicia", which, moreover, was on the defensive. The Ukrainians held out for less than 20 minutes, then abandoned the defense and fled.
Therefore, it does not matter how many weapons the Ukrainian army has.

Read the report. Moscow ranks first in the world in terms of comfort and infrastructure among megacities.
To whom has more faith - you, who, as you say, have never been to Moscow? Or a group of UN researchers?

And this happens in every country in the world. Because capitalism. Even Lenin described what is happening now in his work "Imperialism as the highest stage of capitalism."
And Detroit and cities like it are just the beginning.

All of that is BS and you know it.
Ukraine and Belarus were first to face full fire power of the German military. By the time Germans made it to Russia proper, they were already bogged down in a difficult war. Soviet Union recognized it, but you don’t? Even locals organized in many partisan groups that were fighting against Nazis and supported USSR. But yes, a small fraction supported the other side - an event that can be observed in every war. By the way, Ukraine trains their civilians for partisan warfare now - I watch their TV and they are saying free public classes are available in many areas and all civilians are encouraged to attend. These events gather large crowds.
As for Ukrainians running - DPR was a lot larger at some point - Ukraine regained a very large chunk of the territory. So, even with the sorry arse state their military was 8 years ago they still managed to push back and regain. Look at the events before Illovaysk massacre - Ukrainians were gaining ground. Russian propaganda underestimates Ukrainian fire power now, and at the same time claims Ukraine is a threat to Russia. Think about it!

Naw, it’s the socialists (commies) that destroy these city’s. When the capitalists ran Detroit it was growling, flourishing, one of the worlds great city’s. The leftists destroyed it and made it the shithole it currently is. Same in St. Louis, Cleveland, Baltimore Memphis and countless other leftists utopias.

The border of the USSR was guarded by Russians NKVD. And it was the Russians who were the first to face the aggression of the Nazis.
In those regions of Ukraine where the majority of Ukrainians lived, for example, the Lviv region, Ukrainians greeted the Nazis with flowers. And together with the Nazis they killed Poles, Jews, Russians ... and representatives of other nationalities.
And to make it clear - Kiev is a Russian city. The vast majority of the population of Kiev are ethnic Russians. As well as Odessa, Donetsk, Lugansk, Kharkov....etc.
Ukrainians - are the SS division "Galitchyna", Babi Yar, the Volyn massacre .... and so on. The Belarusian village of Khatyn and its entire population (old people, children, women) were burned by ethnic Ukrainians. At the same time, Ukrainians burned people alive.

I once had a nest-egg to live off, anywhere I wanted. It was not so big so as to live luxuriously, so I was looking for an inexpensive place to live, but one with enough selling points that it wouldn't feel like a place that the only reason a person would move there, would be to save money. I also wished to stay in the U.S., so used something called the Places Rated Almanac, which covered every metropolitan area in the U.S., rating them on a wide variety of elements, to choose my next place of residence.

My conclusion was, it is a bad idea to trust this type of rating. Such ratings are inaccurate, in some cases meaningless, garbage. Their attempts to be "scientific," are nothing of the sort but, rather, just skew them toward whatever places have the things which those who chose the criteria, subjectively chose to emphasize.

For example, one of the categories rated was health. But the main criterion used to arrive at that rating, was how many hospitals were in the area. If you think about it, if a place were a really healthy one, in which to reside, there should be a lesser need for hospital beds. And a place that can support an abundance of hospital beds, that needs an abundance of hospital beds, just might be because it is not as healthy a city to live in. For Social Life or Entertainment rating, it used some formula that included counting how many bowling alleys a city could boast, and so forth. Of course, this really throws off the relevance of those ratings, for anyone who isn't a bowler.

My point is that one's life experience cannot be predicted by some universal rating that is intended to apply for all. That is a lot of bogus hype, because we all have different preferences and, even if we do emphasize Entertainment over other things, if the components that go into that rating are not conducive to our tastes, these ratings will ring false, & misleading. They cannot help but be subjective, no matter how hard they may try to be "logical." If places are going to be given equal credit for a railway museum or an art museum, those things generally cater more, to different tastes. So, whatever, Moscow.

Quick follow-up, was any part of the rating based on how likely it was for protesters in those cities to "disappear?"

I give bonus points to countries with transparent, accountable, truly participatory legal systems!

Socialists have nothing to do with communists. These are different, diametrically opposed views.
For example, Hitler was a socialist. The abbreviation of his party NSDAP stands for National Socialist German (Deutsch) Workers' (Arbeiten) Party.

Of course, Mr Putin lives there! The old story goes that when they were building Moscow airport they hired a German firm and the only Russian things they used were sand and water.

Moscow has three major international airports and many smaller airports. What airport are you talking about?

Which would violate the Monroe Doctrine and guarantee a war. Ask Khrushchev about how we're likely to react.

In 2021, it is estimated that there are 100 U.S.-owned nuclear weapons stored in five NATO member states across six bases: Kleine Brogel in Belgium, Büchel Air Base in Germany, Aviano and Ghedi Air Bases in Italy, Volkel Air Base in the Netherlands, and Incirlik in Turkey.

I’ve been to Detroit a few years ago. That city does not represent how the greatest majority of Americans live. My pictures do show how a very large chunks of Russians live. Did you know that a good portion of Russians don’t have a functioning toilet?

I know that many Ukrainians clean toilets in Poland. Then where did you get the information about toilets in Russia.

This is a perfect illustration of Russian lies and propaganda.
Katyn massacre was committed by soviet soldiers - Ukrainians had nothing to do with it:
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn_massacre

Stalin personally signed authorization to murder 22,000 (TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND) in one sitting:

All your posts are Russian propaganda! :boo:
