Putin's dictatorship will end in disaster, says former Russian minister

James Morris · Freelance news writer, Yahoo UK

    ...

"Those strategic weapons that he ordered on alert [are] suicidal weapons because if he sends a missile to Europe, Nato or the United States, he gets two back and there is no survival for anyone."

Asked how Putin's dictatorship ends, Kozyrev stated: "In disaster. It's already disaster but he just does not realise that."

He added a coup is possible, saying it is "very much in Russian tradition".

    ... https://news.yahoo.com/putin-russia-regime-nuclear-war-ukraine-invasion-140942740.html

I certainly agree with the former Russian minister. Like I stated when this whole cluster started, Putin has ended his career by making the mistake of a lifetime. He has started an unwinnable war by apparently miscalculating very badly and entering a no-win scenario for himself and Russia. The Russian people, or at least those who don't blindly consume and believe Kremlin propaganda, don't want this war and are not on board with the wild lies Putin is telling them about Ukraine, NATO and the US.

Most unfortunately, however, Putin knows it is do or die for him. He knows that anything short of victory is his death, but fails to appreciate that there is no victory possible, and so many more will die and lose loved ones in this epic blunder of his. Thousands have died and no doubt thousands more will die because of his foolishness, misguided and depraved willingness to cause all of this death and destruction for his personal edification and to try and preserve his own life and legacy.

Putin's folly will end in a coup sooner or later. It's Kobayashi Maru. The only control Putin has over this situation is how he will fail.

Like I said, they won't let Putin push the button. Too many of their kids are at private schools around the world.

what scares me most is Trump and Putin talking about using nukes as a first strike option, emboldens other countries to do the same and some may be crazy enough to do it

Turns out that using unsecure radios & mobile phones to communicate is unsafe. Who knew?

.....well everyone actually. NATO spends a fortune making sure it has secure comms that will work anywhere. I imagine China does too, and I'd hazard a guess a few other militaries do the same. What does Russia do? Create a system dependent on 4G & then blow up the 4G infrastructure in Ukraine in the first few days. Genius.

I imagine there are a few officers just below General rank hoping that this war only lasts long enough for them to get promoted & not long enough for them to become the next target.

It sounds like they're being geolocated and liquidated as their calls are intercepted. Pretty lousy all right!

Putin is a dead man. We're just trying to minimize how many get taken out when he goes down.

I would guess that's not true at this point. Anybody paying attention has already or will soon get their kids out of harm's way.

The **only** way I see that having an impact is if Putin shuts down travel from there, in effect, holding VIPs' kids as hostages, but he's already on a very short tether.

I googled: "are oligarchs kids at school" and found some interesting links - none of which suggest they have been recalled.

MM, if you had a powerful job and your kids were out of the country at school and a nutjob with nukes has invaded a country for reasons only clear in his head and China and India and North Korea aren't your friends...

Why on Earth would you think that would be advertised anywhere?

Chances are if Putler is removed...however way it is....he'll be sure to drench Russia in blood on the way out.

He's probably well aware of this and knowing he's screwed up royally ....it's scorched earth from here on.

I ran across a headline a few days ago that said that Russia's elite have their assets frozen in the west and they don't know how to live.

The elite's children aren't getting a check from daddy this year.

I have never been against suicide as nobody has the right to tell someone else how much pain, emotional or physical, they **should** be able to endure especially if they aren't willing to *stand in the gap* to help them through whatever problems are weighing them down.

So, I want to go on record to just say that the next time I hear anybody say "suicide is SO selfish" (because, like funerals, that only considers the living people's feelings)...I'm going to say "X could have Putin'd us all!"

I have a neighbor that has a mail order Russian bride. She is a live-in caregiver and has never lived with him and won't live him. He complains because they haven't consummated their marriage.

It gets crazier. He had a caregiver (someone else) that he would have go buy various gift cards for him to send to other Russian women. Right before this past Thanksgiving, one of the women sent him a text message telling him that she had a car accident on the way to be with him and since he agreed to marry her, he was responsible for all her medical bills.

His caregiver had to report it to Adult Protective Services because he was spending his rent and utility money to send to her and a few other women that had him on the hook. He ended up losing all his services because he didn't disclose he was married and his legal wife still won't help him or live with him.

It infuriates me that people prey on people that way. That's why I dislike Trump so much. He's scamming his own supporters and doesn't care some of them are just scrimping by on fixed incomes and has the audacity to ask for a new plane. It's unconsciousable.

eta: I'm not xenophobic. I detest ALL scammers regardless of where they live or hail from.

Quite the racket I see....it's unfortunate.

I'll agree on Trump though.....I'm Republican....but Trump was a poor excuse for a GOP candidate.
