After announcing that the Holocaust was not about race but about two white sides having a war (sic), I decided that she is either REALLY lacking in knowledge about history, or can only think that racism is always about black and white....which is in fact a very narrow, misinformed notion. Since today the concept of race as a social description is not tied specifically to skin colour or other obvious cultural identifiers, does this open more dangerously the possibility that racial discrimination can fall around the ears of any minority the community so chooses to discriminate against (laws against discrimination notwithstanding) such as redhaired or short people etc? Or is race still Whoopie's discredited concept of skin colour alone?
I do not think she was being antisemitic, but she did learn that not being something can still get you attacked if you get something wrong, these are tough conversations to have for that very reason, and why most avoid them in public
And, it's a double-edged sword because everybody is scared of offending somebody that we can't sit down and openly talk about these matters. It's sad. I don't know who said that humans are the highest life form but he must have been high as a kite when he said it.

Well she's an actor, so I wouldn't expect her to know her ass from a whole in the ground. And clearly she doesnt. But thats OK, she doesnt need to. Plumbers dont need to be able to recite Shakespeare and actors dont need to be able to analyze sociology. The problem is all the people who look to anyone famous on TV for social guidance. Actors have writers to make them seem smart. Without writers, they're just regular dumbasses like the rest of us, often worse once the money and fame and elitism go to their head.
Race is a totally made up and arbitrary category. It can be whatever one defines it as. For me its become about skin colour. That is the most accepted definition since it was written into law in america that black was a race. Therefore so is white. Its just silly to claim irish and english are separate races as many do. Basically race is a concept invented by white europeans in order to enslave non whites. Period.

Racism can be because of a bias about certain skin colors or bias about certain ethnicities. SIAP. Whoopie didn't understand racism could also be about ethnicities. I think, the jury is still out on whether Whoopie's misunderstanding about racism was unintentional or intentional.
And that aversion and that double-edged sword is being exploited through wokism and the culture wars. The Dems have to stop moral grandstanding, virtue signaling and trying always to be politically correct. Some things you just have to go to your moral core on and stand your ground.
Not that I'm a Goldberg fan, but I think she was just being philosophical. WW2 was about mans inhumanity to man. She erred in not distinguishing Jews from the mix. Then again, three times as many Russians as Jews were killed by Germany. Do Russians get a museum and hit squads scouring the earth for ancient former Nazi's to avenge eighteen million dead Russians? Does God not love Russians too? It is a big earth with many nations and people. It is not all about Jews. Though I think they are rather special in that the peoples of the earth are blessed by ancient Jewish Patriarchs and the Jewish Savior Jesus Christ.

The options are (usually) African-American or black, Asian or Pacific Islander, Caucasian or white, Hispanic or Latino, Other. Jewish is never on the list. If someone asks about religion you may see: Buddhist, Catholic, Hindu, Jewish, Mormon, Muslim, Protestant, Other. So Jewish is not a race. Jews are white except for converts. The NAZIs hated black people but there weren't many around to kill. The Holocaust was white on white crime.
