Actually my answer makes it pretty clear. This isn't that complicated. Maybe you are... I see farther than most because I stand on the shoulders of other monkeys.
The problem is, many of us were raised with religion. Science does not address the concept of a god. If we are looking for scientific answers and want to learn how the universe works, we have to assume it can be understood and isn't just magic. If we just assumed it is all magic we would still live in the dark ages. And adding a god to the equation introduces more questions than answers. It certainly isn't the simplest solution. It also requires magic, And we don't see that we need a god to explain things.
I look at something as commonplace as a butterfly, and I see 'magic'. Then I step out into my backyard at night and look up at that star-filled sky and see even more of it.
Yet in a bit of irony, you seem to believe in a supernatural explanation. There is no reasonable technology that we can extrapolate that would allow flitting from star system to star system. Based on our knowledge right now, it's fantasy. If there IS anything buzzing drunks out fishing late, it's as likely to be angels as aliens, because both are imaginary.

Yes I'm aware you're a physicist; you've posted that many times. However being a physicist doesn't make you immune to human religious impulses; it just allows you to rebrand it as "Science™" The actual physical evidence for both angels and aliens is exactly the same: zero. But if you want to believe in your new religion, I'm not stopping you, but don't pretend you're Mr Science when pushing your imaginary friends in the sky.
Angels are considered incorporal beings whereas aliens are not. Angels therefore need to manipulate the physical in order to be seen. Not so with aliens which are believed to be far advanced beings that have visited our world using technology that we can only imagine. I would consider them and us being comparable to us and the common ant/bug. We don't give it any thought as to whether the bugs know of our existence, but for some odd reason the aliens want to hide from us. All images of the alleged flying craft are always blurry. Angels existence are more believable than aliens.
If there are over a billion galaxies, and each galaxy has billions of stars with many billions of planets, I'm not a mathematician so I can't work out the odds, but what are the odds of earth being the only one with life? We haven't been visited by angels and/or ET's, but I reckon ET exists many light years away on various planets. I just hope they're more advanced so they don't suffer gender worries.

On what basis do you believe they exist? No one has come close to observing anything outside our own galaxy suggesting their existence.
I went with Angels because two thirds of the angels DID NOT rebel against the Creator and go off into extremely dangerous and questionable psychological experiments. But.... I also believe firmly in aliens that like us are technologically advanced. I am hard-pressed to believe that angels exist. Why do some people suffer their whole lives and others hit every green light a thousand times over? That's not very loving or protecting so it doesn't make sense. It is more feasible to believe that aliens exist because we don't assign benevolent features to them. What if we are some alien kid's Science project?
Actually I spoke with a man just last week who saw three when he was young..... as you can guess he studies the topic of UFO's a lot..... mostly due to what he saw in the past. He said that they were silent... and that there were three of them seemingly observing him and his friends. A high percentage of pilots have seen them.... but they know better than to report what they saw..... because there can be serious negative consequences if they do.
You are ignoring a 100 years of evidence in the modern era, actually 1000s of years of evidence in the form of personal accounts that are often well documented, that are sometimes coupled by compelling physical evidence in the form of RADAR data, radiation, inexplicably failed systems (including nuclear missile systems), and photographs. We even have a case with five witnesses that passed lie detector tests while under investigation for murder. That is virtually proof that what they say is true - see the Travis Walton story. Anecdotes alone are not convincing but we have more than that.
My guess is that even The Richard Dawkins Ph. D. read and somewhat remembered the Erik Von Daniken "Chariots of the gods" theories...... and apparently..... .would not dogmatically rule out at least some aspects of that possible scenario. Actually given that Angels, Demons and such are neither human nor of the earth, that are by default aliens.
