What would happen if blue states stopped paying for red states?
A recent Rockefeller Institute study makes clear how much money flows out of Democratic-leaning states into Republican-leaning ones.

But the blue States could be making their algae fuel now. They don't have to secede to do that. Why aren't they?

The federal government, for some time, has prevented the lesser states from abusing and stripping their own citizens of rights. Fact.

"States' rights" is short hand for imposing draconian, archaic and Taliban-lite restrictions on citizens.

And, as a citizen of a state consistently ranked as one of the most livable states in the Union, I'm sick of subsidizing those imbeciles.

The constitution limits the federal governments powers. The remaining powers are delegated to the state as per the tenth amendment. The constitution does not give the federal government power over abortion and historically was a state power.

    *LOL*

I love being lectured by RW types on the Constitution who don't know anything about.

Read the decisions about unenumerated rights. Yes, my friend, it's in the Constitution!

States don't have the right to deprive people of unenumerated rights as determined by the SCOTUS. They don't whether you want to try to incorrectly interpret the Constitution or not.

    Do some reading.

Actually the most recent SCOTUS ruling on abortion backs up my claim. It may do you good to read it.

Fine. Support the right of secession then.

And you didn't answer the question. You just posted a fake list of nonsense.,

Or are you posting your reasons for starting a civil war?

No, of course not. That's crazy. And nobody who is replying to this thread wants a civil war either. Americans are far too fat, lazy, comfortable, and unwilling to die for anything/anyone beyond themselves for anyone to be worried about a large-scale civil war.

I see there's 1 yes vote for civil war.
There was a thread a while back from a member wishing for a civil war.
Not sure what happened to it.

I agree, when a black skin man was elected president, it woke up a whole bunch of radicals.
For, the behind the scenes racism was now front and center.

The voters can vote how they want.
The voters have to put in term limits, because the elected officials will never limit their ability to have that cushy powerful job.

But if the voters don't vote for the incumbent, then the voters install their own term limits.

Polls show congress at all time lows. But incumbents rarely lose.
There's a disconnect with how voters think of congress critters vs how they actually vote.

I prefer states rights over a civil war. I do worry about a Federal goverment using it's power to strip the states of their rights. In that case I would support an armed militia to protect the state. Every state has a combination of leftest and rightest's and some in between. So seccession is out of the question. Any state can be changed at the ballot box. If a state gets truly unbearable to live in, like California or New York, then one can pack up and leave that state.

Not as fabricated as one should believe. Abortion, assisted suicide, lax drug laws, unsanitary homeless tent cities, laws that consistently free criminals to return to the states show that life does not have much meaning to them.

It is frustrating to try to hold an intelligent conversation with a conservative, because they use their own opinion as their facts regardless of what is true.
The President can declassify anything he wants on his say so? No. There are classifications even the President is not allowed to know about.
1/6 was a block party that got a bit out of hand? No, it was an attempted coup.

    Yeah, and...
We are supposed to be the United States of America. Not a lose collection of independent serfdoms.
Uniform laws across the country is pretty much the way of most countries.
