I suspect the way his conscription is already going in Russia, that many able bodied men in the Donbas will be voting to remain part of Ukraine.

Already people in the streets in St. Petersburg.

And prior to this current event, for the past 8 years, who has been doing the shelling of the people in Donetsk? Any clues? It is the Ukrainian military and NATO. Before all this, NATO, Ukraine and Russia signed the Minsk agreement. It's obvious who broke that agreement, as Putin had warned NATO and Ukraine to cease and desist with their actions towards the Ukrainian civvies. NATO said it would not get any closer to Russia's borders, but they lied. Ukraine and NATO said they would cease the genocide of the Russian-speaking people, but they lied. They removed the nukes from Ukraine but built bioweapons labs in their place that were/are funded by the pentagon, just ask Victoria Nuland. Drugs, weapons, human trafficking rings and money laundering, the neo-nazi factions, were all too much. Putin/Russia took action.
Yet, if the US goes into a foreign country, by means of false flags, false narratives and agendas this is ok, yet Russia gets vilified for their justified actions
*Ding* DIng*. There are some bells you can ring.

I think they do, but the thought police change their minds much to the Ukies wanting to do so.

    Can Putin achieve similar results?
    He is getting close.

These aren't the people being conscripted. Those people are already in the military. What do you think is going on?

These dancers aren't the ones being taken away from their productive civilian lives to go die for Putin.

The able bodied men of Donbass, are already in the armies of the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics fighting to retain their homes, heritage, language and lands from the fascist government in Kiev. One of the major reason Russia is willing to accept their allies the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics into the Russian Federation, is to bring their armies up to par with the Russian army and to better coordinate their movements.

According to Shoigu, only reservists are being called up and those who had previous military experience. Many of them have certain specialties which will probably be needed in Ukraine. Maybe to help train the locals? Anyway, they're not dying for Putin, they're dying for Mother Russia which Putin is protecting from the animals that want to devour her.

As I stated most of the fighting is done by the armies of the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics to free the remaining parts of their territories. In addition, there is the Spetsnaz, the Wagner group and the Chechnyan volunteers. Once the Republics vote and become part of Russia, Moscow will be able to equip them with their latest military arms. The same goes for the other 2 Ukrainian areas holding referendums.

I am personally aware of someone who last had any military training 10 years ago when they left the military.

They have a productive office job, that the Russian economy is now going to lose either because he is sent to war, or leaves the country.

If he does end up going to the war, he isn't going to be of much use.

I can't imagine that this one guy happens to be weird anomaly.

All I know is that Washington was provoking Russia to mobilize and Russia refused to because it would hurt their economy. A little over 1% will be recruited and even that small amount will hurt them somewhat. Every now and then I watch 'Foreign Agent' Earl Grey, an Englishman reporting from Saint Petersburg and he said a worker with a highly trained position in his wife's office was also recruited, and it's going to be difficult to replace him.

I can only assume they're being called because their knowledge and training will be useful in someway.

You perceive that as such. It is historical fact that you'll gladly deny. Because you wouldn't want your belief system destroyed, hey?

I'm not the one saying it. The Russian people are saying it because of his actions, or rather his reactions which have always been restrained. But then again how would you know?

If Russia invaded Ukraine they would have used all their military might and it would have been over in 2 weeks. But they didn't, they made it a Special Military Operation, and instead of destroying all of Ukraine's infrastructure as we did in Iraq and so many other countries, Russia only destroyed Ukraine's military installations.

And Russia hasn't? Really? Re-read my post. I was responding to a direct claim that, and I quote ' Russia only destroyed Ukraine's military installations'. I did not make any claim whatsoever about Ukrainian targeting because I understand that accidents can happen in war. The author of the original post unfortunately does not. In her eyes, Russia can do no wrong. (She has literally 'drunk the cool-aide' of pro Moscow propaganda and can find nothing wrong in whatever Moscow does, say's or claims it will do.) In other words she and reality only have a passing acquaintanceship.

As Paul Craig Roberts wrote, "I respect Putin's concern with law. But I necessarily think the constraints the Kremlin places on its actions are ridiculous. No one in the West cares about international law as US, NATO, and Israeli attacks on other countries illustrate .All the Kremlin has achieved by its goody two shoes behavior is to lengthen its conflict with Ukraine until it widened into a conflict involving the US and NATO."
Now this mistake of the Russians has been corrected.
