Probably better off with an old Mosin-Nagant. I actually feel sorry for Russian conscripts. They are going to die in droves in a pointless war while keyboard warriors who wouldn't get within a continent of the fighting cheer on the guy sending them to their death.

I'm sorta hoping for a 1917 redux, with the conscripts deciding that removing the Tsar is a better option than dying for him.

That's right. I had to google, because a friend from Germany asked me if RT was also banned here in Amerika. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known!

Highly unlikely. If anything, they'll be trained with the AK-47. And when proficient enough they'll have a choice of AK-47 through to AK-109, AKS, AKM, RPK and PK variants.

    Hello Jazz,

Yes, I know that you read a wide variety of news sources because you have shared many of them with me.

I know many people who are obsessive "News Junkies" to the detriment of their health and sleep patterns but, in the end, what can we do with all of this information / disinformation?

It's not as if any of us are in any high level decision making positions so we might as well relax, read a sane amount of news and, enjoy the process of sharing it but mainly do what you suggested: go with your own gut and accept the fact that there's little we can do to change the course of events no matter how much we know.

After all, all that information is wasted if we don't stop to enjoy the many blessings we've got and get some sleep.

Finally, I've found that it's helpful to read news from other cultures like "Japan Today"(1) to see how they perceive the same events we study.

Above all, enjoy life and take care of yourself.

    Thanks,

    (1). https://japantoday.com/latest

Last Chinese declarations in UN security council are not so clear in favor of Russia [on the contrary!].
At Moscow they should consider this.

In Siberia there is well more than in Taiwan.
Siberia can be a matter of nationalistic feelings, but Siberia is a national interest for China.

    Good Morning/Afternoon, dear Grau!
Thanks for your fatherly advice! It's much appreciated since your concern meets perfectly with my ambition... to one day make it to bed before midnight!!

I have noticed you are an early riser! The big difference between us is that you live within a family, get your meals cooked and socks washed. I have to do all that myself! But I like being independent, I enjoy my freedom! To be a "news junkie" is better than a drug- or alcohol junkie!

A big hug and a million thanks for the new source from Japan!! Best gift you could have given me today, Sunday, September 25th!! It's my youngest brother's 96th birthday!! Wish he was still alive. Now I have only you to tease!!

The reason Xi is interested in Taiwan is it has historically been part of China and that Xi does not want To be encircled by US bases such as NATO surrounding Russia.

    When did NATO surround Russia?
The large majority of the border of Russia is not in contact with NATO countries.
