Then you missed the salient point which was, had it not been for Biden, his tacit approval of the actions by the Russians, this war likely wouldn't have begun. And it has been Biden, who has continued to beat the drum for the continuation and prolongment of the war. Sorry this abused your sense of reality.

I don't ever agree with Lenin's brother above, but this time he's got it right.
Musk has since changed this to letting the entire Donbass and Crimea vote....Ukraine or Russia...which of course is very reasonable. Even more reasonable is letting the entire East and South of "the ukraine" vote. That will never happen because the West wouldn't like the outcome.

How can someone tell us they back fascism without saying it out loud?

One way is to not mention negotiations when Russia was winning, but then announce, after Ukraine starts winning, how only those awful warmongers won't negotiate.

He doesn't have any more power to do that than either of us or Lebron James.

Interesting concepts. Why do people listen to very wealthy folk over anyone else? Influence perhaps?

I find it hard to believe that the Western foreign policy establishment consensus is that Ukraine is worth risking nuclear war over.

Apparently if you don't want your children to die in nuclear fire you're a "Pootin luver."

Ok, we go back to the annexation of Crimea.
But in the meanwhile Russia has invaded the rest of Ukraine.
Substantially Musk is telling Putin "you're an idiot!".

If you based your decisions on Putin's threat to launch nukes, then you are nothing more than a servant of Putin.

We may as well pledge allegiance to him, since he can just threaten to launch nukes anytime someone resists him.

This entire round of bullshit from Putin was to establish a land path to crimea...

So no. Those terms will not work for Russia. Nor will they work for Ukraine.

Ukraine decides if their is a referendum. Not invading nations/ governments.

This was never about the will of the people.

Yea, because it isn't a joke.

If you are afraid when Putin make a threat to use nukes, then you have accepted a life where you give Putin whatever he wants.

You're right, but realistically Kiev will probably have to accept the Donbass provinces as legitimately and fully separated now from Ukraine. BUT, Kiev should fight like mad dogs to keep control over Kherson and Zaporizhia!

True.....Kherson and Zapo aren't as hard-core pro Russian as DNR/LNR.

Dwarfstans won't have their land route to Krym.

He's not especially 'smart' about diplomatic resolutions to military conflicts. He has exactly the same 'reason to comment' as my plumber has - and the same credentials.

For the entire nuclear age, we've been adversaries with first the Soviet Union, and then Russia, but except for the Cuban missile crisis, we've managed to handle relations with some degree of caution and prudence. We've certainly never threatened the Soviets/Russia with regime change, until this year. And it's not as if this is over something of great US national interest; we're playing nuclear chicken with the Russians over nothing that's important to us. Tell me what you think is so important that we should continue to push a nuclear armed state into a corner? How will that benefit the US?

It's so important because the DC Ministry of Truth told them it's important. How sad it is people can't think for themselves.

In general, those who's native tongue is Russian will vote for Russia. Those who's native tongue is Ukranian will vote for Ukraine. Those who are bilingual are the outliers and most likely will not impact the vote.

But you are right that the West will not allow such a vote, because this is not about what the people want... It is about the resources available and creating the political structures that allow the West to exploit Ukraine's resources!
