And the video below shows Kadyrov's gift to Vladimir Putin. Yesterday he was made a General by Vladimir Putin. I assume this means that his volunteer army will now be under the Russian army, but I'm not sure. I really don't know what the arrangements are, only that Kadyrov was in charge of stopping terrorists from entering Russia - and there have been quite a few battles there.

Another interesting thing, is that most of the volunteers into the Russian army are from outlying areas. It could be that the wages are lower there, and the money in the military is higher in comparison. Or they have a harder life and they don't mind going into the army. Then again they might be more patriotic. Vladimir Putin said the recruiting officers shouldn't turn them away readily.

A funny thing is that many men are volunteering to get away from their wives - I wonder if they're the ones that are being sent back home?
