I know all of that and have already said it did you have a point? And the laws vary with the states, the fact is people do not go to prison for simple possession anymore. The fact is that some of whom Biden is talking about actually did commit more serious crimes and are in prison because they pled it down.

I think they will leave it to the States, but I think like Alcohol, most States will legalize it

If the federal hurdles are removed, even the most conservative state is going to embrace a hippie/stoner tax and shout "AMEN!" all the way to the bank.

agree, the DEA needs to be disbanded and leave it up to the States

at the very least, fire all the people that were responsible for scheduling drugs and not fixing this as that is their job... they failed at their jobs

The point I was making was about the drug laws themselves. Yes, most do not go for simple possession. A simple possession is simply an add on to other crimes, like illegal possession of a firearm for instance, or mail fraud, etc. And that was the point. There is something much more going on than the pardon here and how drug laws are intertwined with other laws. I also pointed out that a mere 0.25 of an ounce, which is not that much, is for simple possession, and anything more, is possession with intent. I think Biden will increase the amounts for possession to something more lik a pound than more than a quarter of an ounce.

There has been some studies that show marijuana has somemedicinal purposes for medicine.

Yes I know. That’s why I don’t get how they can rationally say it has none, especially since they allow Marinol(FDA approved since 1985, and on a lower schedule since 1999! Check how many times since 1985 it was looked at to be rescheduled).

Again it depends on the state. My state does not set amounts between class A and class B charges it is up to the arresting officer and prosecutors and previous record.

This was a vote grab by Biden thinking it wouldnfool people into thinking he was issuing some great order that would effect lots of people and change the law and show him leading the way. It does none of them.

Yup. Still picking up beer cans in the park in the fog, 30 days past their release date. Hmmm….

Weed should be treated identical to alcohol. Legal with limitations regarding driving and heavy equipment. Tax it the same. There are obvious beneficial effects relaxing the body with pain as well as your stereotypical clouding of the brain effects we’ve all seen. As with any “substance”, that isn’t a hard drug, use with moderation and there isn’t an issue. Get addicted and you’ve got problems.

According to Mississippi, it depends on the offense for 30g or less.

    https://norml.org/laws/mississippi-penalties-2/

On a side note, there is a state constitutional amendment to allow canabis/hemp becoming legal, like Texas did a year or two ago.

Why are you quoting Mississippi to me? I an Alabamian. And 30 grams is more than an once. And people don't go to prison for just simple possession.

Because you admitted you lived in Mississippi not too long ago.

Second, you missed the point. The point was not based on the amount, but the number of convictions between a class A and class B misdemeanor.
