    https://edition.cnn.com/2022/10/25/europe/dirty-bomb-russia-ukraine-explainer-intl-hnk/index.html

I highlighted the most important part of the article. The rest is typical anti-Russian propaganda. (You all know that even American presidents are calling Western media fake news)
But the main thing I have highlighted.
Everything points to the fact that the United States will try to blow up a nuclear charge in Ukraine (in Nikolaev? Ukrainian fascists hastily evacuate the inhabitants of Nikolaev. Naturally, not everyone. We need sacrifices for the picture.) with the hands of Kyiv in order to bring NATO troops into the special operation zone under the pretext of Russia's alleged use of nuclear weapons. In fact, the territory of Ukraine will turn into a training ground where the troops of nuclear powers in the CIS format will directly clash against the Alliance.
For those who believe that this is a bluff for negotiations with the Americans, let me remind you of the same hopes about the Big Deal on the eve of the Special Operation. No, the Anglo-Saxon oligarchy, having felt the blood, is ready to go to the end - especially since they are sure that nothing threatens them.
In this regard, it is worth recalling the warning of President V.V. Putin February 24, 2022 - (quote) “Now a few important, very important words for those who may be tempted to intervene in ongoing events. Whoever tries to hinder us, and even more so to create threats for our country, for our people, should know that Russia's response will be immediate and will lead you to consequences that you have never experienced in your history. We are ready for any development of events. All necessary decisions in this regard have been made. I hope that I will be heard."
Obviously, “consequences that have never been faced in their history” is a blow to the United States, to American decision-making centers, which no one has ever done. If such a need arises, I am sure that Putin's hand will not waver.
The next two weeks - before the US congressional elections on November 8, up to which the Democrats urgently need to show at least some kind of victory in the distant war - the threat of such an almost apocalyptic scenario is huge.
It is amazing how many contemporaries do not understand that humanity these days is on the verge of what people so acutely feared in the 20th century.
And if, as everyone knows, the Russians go to heaven, then the rest will simply die. And the living will envy the dead.

You need to make your mind up. Is it a dirty bomb that or a nuclear one? They are very different things and you don't seem to understand the difference, guess you need clearer instructions. You don't need scientific institutions to house the technology for a dirty bomb, that's why it's a terrorist's wet dream. Also explains why the whole claim by Russia is BS.

It's conventional explosives dynamite / C4 and some radio active material of which there are lot's of different ones.

Russia is not going to do this. Claiming that is absurd.
If Russia were to attack Ukraine with anything involving radioactive contamination it would be a small scale tactical nuclear missile.

    The media is stupid.

Not only that but the Russians have an aversion to anything involving radioactive contamination after their Chernobyl incident (1986).
Putin does not want Ukraine to be permanently destroyed as a country (although the Russians are currently on a campaign of total destruction of infrastructure). He wants to make Ukraine a part of Russia again. Contamination would make Ukraine permanently uninhabitable and defeat half the purpose of invasion.

I have to admit that of all the unsubstantiated (and to me far fetched) conspiracy theories about Russia/Putin planning or doing things like sabotaging their own gas pipelines, and such, this one does raise some serious questions about Russia's intentions (or what they want to project as their intention). I see neither the motive nor clear means for Ukraine to be planning to introduce anything that would give Russia a pretext to release the nuclear Genie from its bottle. Most likely Russia wants to use these allegations to increase Western and Ukrainian anxiety about Russia using its nukes to bring pressure for added urgency to favorable ceasefire and settlement talks. There is also the chance, Russia is seriously considering using tactical nukes and wants to set up a pretext for it for the audience at home. But whatever the motivation, this conflict has already broken some taboos and increased the danger of spiraling out of anyone's control.

I tend to agree with most of what you wrote... just to mention that there is one country that works in favor of the Russians and thus fuels the fire and causes the killing of civilians on the other side - its name is Iran.

You have no idea what Putin might do. Putin is irrational. He not thought though any of his actions very well. Now that his war is going badly, there is no telling what he might do.

Think of Hitler in his last days in his bunker. That is where Putin is now. It may not be his last days, unfortunately, but that is the mindset. No world leader on his right mind would want to project the image he is creating for himself.

Putin is not irrational. Not understanding what is going on does not make everyone else irrational.
Those who promote the Madman Hitler theory promote Holocaust denialism.

You are getting really desperate when you bring the Holocaust into a discussion where it is not germane to the issue. Are you so determined to make that who disagree with you into bigots that you are ready compose falsehoods to make your point?

an aversion...!!???......errmmm....apart from poisoning people with it you mean....

Remind me....was it around seven million becquerels worth of material they nicked from Chernobyl before they were kicked out in April.....

......that's actually quite a funny post if you really want to stare intently up the arse of Putin whilst he's on the potty reading his "Idiots Guide to Russian Terror Tactics"

His invasion is faltering. I think he would rather destroy the Ukrainian people than be simply defeated. In his paranoid mind, Ukraine was a threat to Russia, but a depopulated buffer zone not so much. And he is looking for a way to get away with it. A dirty bomb would be something he could blame on others, and get away with, much more easily than any nuclear blast.

Well Bob, I guess you don't think that Putin should not be compared to Hitler? And from that you have come to the conclusion that I am a Holocaust denier. That's quite an insult.

Is that because Putin's not been as successful or Hitler or are you one of those "progressives" who think that there was a big difference between Hitler and Stalin? The fact is there was very little difference between them except that Stalin decided to fight on our side in World War II after Hitler attacked him. Before that, those two monsters had very similar aims and objectives.

Sadly, this is true. That is a possibility. I think he knows there would be massive repercussions for doing any such thing though.

errmm....I'm just thinking aloud here...why does Putin need to be compared to Hitler...or indeed anyone for that matter....surely people and circumstance exit in their own time without ...necessarily....needing to be referenced to historical characters? Putin is like Julius Caesar....Putin is Like Genghis Khan.....Putin is Like Alexander the Great....it's sort of meaningless...??

    anyway....yeah....that kindda thing....

Okay, Putin invades other countries without provocation and has committed war crimes. Is that good enough for you?

sure....why not....I was just wonder why people do that? I mean its frequently done and I just wondered why...that's all....nothing sinister or nasty....:)

I'm not firm believer in this adage that "we can learn from history" or "history teaches us lessons"...likewise comparisons with people....that's all....:)
