A question about the most votes in history

Gotta give my wife credit for this one.

If Biden got the most votes in history, then why are democrats in ultra panic mode about the midterms?

It seems like a fair question. What changed?

 

People didn't vote FOR biden, they voted AGAINST trump.

 

What a stupid reason to vote for any president. Why didn't the anti-Trumper voter just write in Donald Duck for president in 2020?

What’s scary is that the candidate they chose and the one who has ****ed up our country with extremist liberal policies was the LEAST extremist liberal of all of their options except for maybe one.

Well said. Biden worked as a candidate against Trump because he was the one least likely to distract from Trump's own sabotage of himself. That's why "hiding in the basement" was a viable campaign strategy. Biden didn't have to run on any particular message of his own, he just had to get out of the way and let Trump alienate a majority of the country.

The simple truth is that Joe Biden doesn't bring out voters; Donald Trump turns out voters like almost no one before him. Unfortunately for Trump, an awful lot of those voters turn out to vote against him.

 

One of the worst mistakes any political group can make is to assume they speak for everybody; that they are the norm and those not in line with that are the exceptions.
While "norm" is established by the most common behavior, it has nothing to do with being honorable or beneficial to a society.

An honorable government, regardless of it's political alliance works to make the environment of the country a better place for all to live; it encourages the behaviors that make people strong, and keep people free.

The MAGA slogan has been greatly abused, but in fact both of the present major political entities could use the acronym.

Some believe in Making America Great Again- Others in Making America Grovel Again.

To know which side claims which version- just look at what they do. Do they act with honor, or deceit and deception? Do that act justly, speak truth- or speak with the proverbial split tongue?
Do they promote hate and division, or promote unity? Do they want to raise the bar or hold to the standards that have made the nation envy of the world- or lower it all?

If you don't trust your own judgment and let others tell you what to think..... you are probably already on the wrong side.

Biden was the equity candidate for president...Not qualified but still being presented for election.
How do you like a non-qualified (or incompetent) president running the US?
BTW, Americans received what they asked for when they voted for an unqualified person to be president.

BTW, I see a whole lot more fascism and communism in the Biden Administration than in the Trump Administration.
Trump didn't jail protestors to the 2016 election. Trump didn't send in federal troops to stop the rioting and damage from the communist organizations BLM and ANTIFA. Trump didn't sick the FBI and DOJ on political opponents.

 

Biden's merits are debatable and I'm not one to sing his praises. He certainly wasn't my first choice. Back in 2016, of all the candidates running for nomination, my most preferred candidates were all Republicans.

But that's the point, isn't it? Trump has created a hardcore base of strongly devoted to him specifically as the only viable savior ("I alone can fix it!"). AND, at the same time, Trump created a hardcore opposition which sees him (and aspects of his movement) as a threat to democracy. In light of that, Biden's merits and demerits hardly register.

True, but then protestors to the 2016 election didn't try to prevent the transition of power by storming the Capital of the United States while chanting for the Vice President to be hanged, so that's kind of an apples and oranges situation.

I voted for Trump so I don't know why people voted for Biden. Only those people who voted for Biden know the reason they did so. But I think it's safe to say those who voted for Biden didn't know they would see such radical liberal policies from Biden. And that is exactly the reason Biden's approval rating is so low. Thankfully we have frequent elections and can make changes in administrations' policies.

 

The voters bought what Biden was selling in 2020 but then they tasted it and it tasted terrible, smelled, and was poisonous.

 

Yep..... some hated Trump so much they "rose from the grave".

So my buddy and I were sitting around a 30 pack of Bud Lite last night (sorry, it's all gone, we finished it) and we discussed how a guy can go from 81 million votes to some people in his party not wanting to him to campaign for them. Both of us believe Biden didn't actually get that amount of votes, and if he did, then what he and his party did over the last two years alienated a lot of people as we see the desperation on the left and the concern they have about getting shellacked.

Unfortunately, the left voted against a personality without considering his policies. Now the guy whose personality they like is going to get his party creamed because of his policies.

Most people would tend to think a party that was elected as a majority in congress would still have enough voters who approve of what they voted for 2 years ago. That democrats and the liberal media are freaking out and already accusing republicans of cheating means they really expect to get hammered when they should have all the confidence in the world after the last election.
