The inflation has been caused by a gross amount of overprinting of money and absurdly high levels of government stimulus. Combined with an artificially low interest rate which they MUST bring up above the rate of inflation and they’re not even REMOTELY close lol

Which means it’s only going to get worse. Because the ONLY way to stop out of control inflation is to get your interest rates above the rate of inflation. The rate of inflation if calculated in 1980 terms is sitting at 18%. Which means if they want to stop it, interest rates have to go above 18%. Which will absolutely destroy the market.

But if they don’t do that hyper inflation will occur and the country is ****ed. The consequences of which will make a crashing market and 1929 look like tea time with Mr Rogers

we have a grain issue due to droughts, that will even affect cattle, it's gonna get bad, stock up on can food.... add the bird flu overseas and we are gonna have a food shortage

I think there should be an investigation into early voting. Which role does the state use to mail out ballots to prospective voters? If it's the voter role, I suspect state voter fraud because it's been my experience that state voter roles are far from accurate.

I’m happy lol unfortunately there’s still a chance the republicans could win the senate. So I’m hoping that’s not the case. We need the Dems to retain control of the senate by one seat.

How the heck can we have a fed election, when it's a rare occurrence?
I don't think the constitution will allow a 1 size fits all federal election that only happens 1x every 4 yrs. States elect their representatives for their own states, not for some national governence.

 

Raising the debt has nothing to do with the conversation.

There is one way and ONE WAY ONLY to deal with out of control inflation. That is to raise your interest rates above the rate of inflation. That’s why we had interest rates at 22% in the 1980’s. Because inflation was at 18%. They tackled that by jacking up interest rates.

Well right now we are sitting at 17% inflation if calculated in 1980 terms. See for yourself:

However our interest rates aren’t even remotely close to 18%. Which means rather than stabilize or decrease from this point forward (as it did in the 1980’s), inflation will continue to climb while they move interest rates above 20%. And this government and federal reserve have shown no indications of pushing our interest rates that high.

And if they **** around and don’t raise interest rates high enough and you get inflation which climbs to 25% or higher then hyper inflation is INEVITABLE, no matter what they do. Because there is a diminishing rate of returns on raising interest rates. Once you raise them past a certain point (usually 20-25%) then pretty much everyone who might want a loan will no longer get one because the interest is too high. So raising interest above 25% does not gain you the same impact as it was doing before.

Which means that the ONLY tool we have of raising interest rates to battle inflation will be useless because inflation is too high.

Don’t worry. If you live in the US you’re going to find that out first hand.

So here's a real-time example of the real problems in our voting system. The Alaskans are running TWO Republicans to one Democrat. And we saw this before in 2016 where splintered voting favors the candidate going against multiple competitors. The R's have split the vote, and thus the Democrat is going to win this race. Not cheating, just stupid.
