I'm surprised not to have seen this story yet. I would think it would have been all over the news by now. Who's right and wrong here:

    Who's right or wrong here?
The guy attacks a police officer, tries to take his gun, gets shot in the process, and we are talking about a window tint violation?
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. He got what he deserved. His race has nothing to do with it.

Making the traffic stop sound innocent when the reason for the traffic stop isn't really relative.

Kittling made very bad judgement in grabbing the Officer's weapon. You do not do that, ever, even if it's sitting on top of your foot, you do NOT do that.

it's disturbing that the cop escalated this over tinted windows, but the guy also brought this on himself by his actions

    so both handled it wrong

the officer should treat people with respect, answer why you're pulling someone over when they ask, try to deescalate, the driver should have obeyed and not ever gone for the gun, the driver had a right to be agitated, but should have controlled himself, the cop was not helping here though

Why did you not include what happened during the stop as in Kittling got out of his vehicle, refused the lawful orders of the police officer then tried to grab his TASER and physically attacked him trying to overtake him?

    Here's the video

    Lawful shooting.

The officer did not escalate it Kittling escalated it and was the one person in the wrong. The minute Kittling got out of his vehicle and refused the lawful orders of the police officer he became a threat to the officer.

As a general rule, Ben Crump is virtually always wrong.

Probably because it was easily justified. I mean, the officer could have handled it better in terms of de-escalation early on (but not badly enough that he should be punished), but the uncooperative belligerent guy he pulled over is at fault for his own death.

They should put Chris Rock's PSA on loop and play it 24-7.

Agree. They both made critical mistakes. The officer was too quickly wanting to handcuff the guy, grabbing his arms, putting him on the defense.
But the guy also escalated it stupidly. He should have just followed the officers directions. He would have driven away, unless he was drunk or something.
    Two dumb asses colliding.

The cop wanted to cuff him because he was being confrontational. The cop's instincts were spot on.

No, Kittling was in the wrong. The deputy was employing this training.

Kittling broke all the rules, the second he got out of the vehicle. He basically killed himself.

Oh man, did we lose another wrapper? When will tragedies like this ever end? Wait, he had total control over how poorly this went. Let me guess, he wasn’t on his way to doctor school, was he?

Cop should tell why you are being pulled over, but that doesnt give the right to fight and resist.

the officer also escalated it, but the ultimate issue that caused his dead was the driver himself

the officer needs to go back to training, he failed to handle this simple traffic stop properly imo

the driver for his own wrongs, paid for it with his life

Looks like the racist BET lost another viewer. The cop was using pretty standard procedure. Another suicide by cop.

The cop could have nipped it in the bud and answered the question posed. But the escalation was the fault of the driver.

But legit question - why didn't the cop use his taser instead of his gun?

    not really.

Be a police officer a while before assuming you understand the job. When conducting a violator contact the officer is under no expectation to tell the driver WHY he was stopped until he reasonably identifies the driver and feels he can safely proceed with issuing a violation. You do NOT allow the driver to dictate the pace of said interaction.
