I don't know anyone who disagrees with the evils of slavery. But where it came from damn sure matters in placing blame. The descendants of the inventors of black slavery should be placing the responsibility for it on their own ancestors first, because they were the original black slave captors, owners and traders. Black people owned and sold black slaves in Africa long before whites in America had slaves. IF there had been no tradition of slavery, no business of black people in Africa capturing and trading black slaves- there would not have been any black slaves for sale to send to the Americas. That practice in Africa predates the new world slave trade by about 1,000 years.

There is still slavery in Africa today; last report I looked at estimated the number to be around 9 million, far more than the highest ever in the United States.
