Another Asian on Asian mass killing......what's going on? 7 Dead, 1 Injured in Half Moon Bay Shootings; Suspect in Custody https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/peninsula/deadly-shootings-half-moon-bay/3137085/ Seven people were shot and killed at two separate scenes in Half Moon Bay Monday afternoon, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Four victims were found dead at about 2:22 p.m. along the 12700 block of Cabrillo Highway, the sheriff's office said. Another victim was transported to Stanford Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Shortly after that discovery, three more victims were found dead at a separate scene in the area, according to the sheriff's office. The suspect, 67-year-old Half Moon Bay resident Zhao Chunli, was taken into custody at about 4:40 p.m. after he was found in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Half Moon Bay substation, the sheriff's office said. He was taken into custody without incident and a weapon was found in his car.
Once we know who the victims are in relation to the suspect we will know more. However, with the other shooting in Monteray Park, California, early indications that it may be domestic violence involved. And there may be some mental illness involved too, but no one is for sure.
No sense whatsoever. The victims were farm-workers, so one can only assume there was something personal going on between the shooter and the victims.
Nothing I have seen indicates he is crazy or mentally deranged. Given that these were farm workers and he also worked with them, a loose definition of "workplace violence" may be the cause. So, LEOs will comb through his electronic footprint, see what searches he has on his cell phone, interview friends, other coworkers, and former coworkers, interview him as much as they can, etc.
Going and killing a bunch of people it's not exactly the mark of good mental health. I think it's pretty obvious the man has mental issues
Crazy man Zhao won't get off because of an insanity plea but it is highly likely that anyone who shoots and kills seven people isn't playing with a full deck. Anyone who believes that the use of extreme violence to solve what's ailing them is acceptable has mental health problems.
