Teachers being fired for not calling someone by their preferred gender, teaching to hate our history and to change names of schools and knock down statues to further diminish our founding. In fact, no supporter of COVID policies, misinformation restrictions, CRT, and cancel culture can claim they give a crap about free speech. That’s actually laughable

 

For starters, we are not even on the road to communism, much less socialism in a manner that fits Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, etc.

 

That is not free speech, that is a violation of school policy. Violate school policy on anything and yes, you can get fired.

The issue is whether or not that is an appropriate school policy or one that should be made. But that is a totally different argument outside the confines of "free speech." Students, teachers, administrators, and staff must adhere to the policy standards. Policy standards are what govern the school from discipline to subject matter to how one addresses a person even though they may "choose" a different gender or not be called by a particular pronoun.

 

There were antimaskers who went into stores demanding that employees and other customers take off their masks with some, well, let's just say, got too overenthusiastic over it and forced it off the person. That is not free speech either, is it. If soneonw was wearing a mask, minding their own business in a grocery store, why should be harrassed for doing so?

Once the means of production is almost entirely automated, the economic system will evolve into communism. I don't need to do anything to make that happen.

There certainly is no requirement that the government look anything like the ones we associate with communism today.

 

You’re over complicating things. You just needed to tell me what you believe are advantages to communism. What I may or may not believe regarding communism has no bearing on your beliefs.

"Cancel culture" is a myth for the most part that has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment. CRT is, similarly, a nonsensical boogeyman. And private companies restricting misinformation on their own platforms is well within their own free speech rights -- it's their platform . . . if you oppose their right to do so then YOU are the one attacking the 1st Amendment.

 

Distribution of wealth. That is more important to me than anything else. I'm sure that isn't important to you, i'm not going to argue with you.

Socialism and Communism are just natural progressions from Capitalism. The reason it fails is because people try to force it, it happens naturally. It is an unstoppable force.

The US is as much socialist as it is capitalist today, the evolution is happening whether you like it or not.

I think capitalism is much better than communism, but right wing propaganda is getting better and better. The fact that Trump who lost 2020 elections and tried to be president by force is today the most popular GOP presidential candidate is not a good sign for America. I don't see any signs America is walking toward communism, but I see many signs America is marching toward undemocratic regime.

 

Comparing tactics used to push to CRT with tactics to make 2020 elections loser the US president is is like comparing President Trump hair with a lions mane.

T this point the Democratic party doesn't seem to be seeking textbook socialism, or government ownership of the means of production, but they certainly are the advocates of a bigger and more controlling central government.

COVID was exactly what government ownership of means of production to a T. Let’s not forget what states were threatening to shut off gas and water to businesses that would not comply with their orders to stop the production of their services.

 

And did govt then take over the production of these companies?
