So many on the left don't care about law. They only care about self righteous power. Kinda like how Pelosi said he now has a chance to prove his innoocence when the rule of law is innocent until proven guilty....

The entire RW response (both here and in the real world at large) is one GIANT deflection. All this talk about "political persecution" and "turning America into a third world country" is an attempt to deflect from the FACT that the indictment of Trump more than likely means he committed a crime.

In 2017 90% of Federal Indictments resulted in plea agreements. Of the other 10%, 8% have their cases dismissed and the other 2% go to trial.
Of the 2 % that go to trial conviction rate is over 80%

I think we can all agree there is no way in HELL that Trump is pleading guilty. Even if his lawyers recommend it.
Now there is a chance that he may not go to trial because his case gets dismissed but I think that is unlikely, not impossible, but unlikely. I would give it no more than a 25% chance of being dismissed.

So what the Trump sycophants are trying to due is poison the trial before it even starts. They don't want a trial based on the facts and the law...Trump looses that fight. They want a trial about "political harassment" and "attacks on a political opponent"

More fake news from a conspiracy theory source?

    ...
They allege that Bragg is using federal funds to conduct his investigation, which would give Congress the authority to probe the Manhattan's DA office. It is an allegation that Bragg denies.

It doesn't appear that you do.
Why do you think this is a political hit job?
It's a State DA doing this investigation.

$5000 is a drop in the bucket for any DA investigation of that nature in today's world. They applied, got it, and used it. Don't see the problem here.

The Republicans don't see it as a problem, they see it as an opportunity.
Now that Federal money is involved that gives Jim Jordan and his "weaponization committee" the veneer of a reason to investigate Braggs investigation of Trump.

IMO, Jim Jordan still has not answered his involvement with the Ohio State University Wrestling Team molestation charges that he was aware of and thus should never have been elected to Congress, to begin with. But Jim Jordan is also screwing up the so-called investigation. It is not an investigation or even a witch hunt. It was never meant to be. It is meant as a testing platform for 2024 elections so that the GOP can retain control of the House and retake the senate, as well as the WH. That is all it is designed for. Not the truth, not the real reason. And $5k is like finding a nickel in the couch. Does not make you rich, and it does not make you poor. And it won't be enough to which the Trump investigation would have moved forward or not.

Midnight repost: The Democrat Party of thugs and goons.

'The indictment of Donald Trump this week on bogus charges by a local New York Democrat Party machine politician, done for entirely political reasons, once again illustrates the ugliness of that party.'

THEIR ESCALATION INTO GREATER AND GREATER VICIOUSNESS CONTINES

'For the past seven years, since Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016, the Democratic Party and its supporters have increasingly acted like Nazi storm-troopers, willing, able, and eager to crush their opponents at every opportunity, and to do so cruelly and with great viciousness.'

'Democrats, both in and outside that party, have shown themselves in the past seven years to be out-of-control tyrants willing to abuse power at every opportunity to enforce their will and to destroy their opponents. '

'Democrats’ “a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the … design to put Americans under absolute Despotism.”'

This has been explained quite a few times, so I’m puzzled why you would ask. Once more, Bragg campaigned on “getting” Trump. He’s fulfilling his promise, thus making it political.

Another poster already told you that opinion of yours is wrong.
    Never said he'd get trump.

But post that quote. I can change my mind.

Indeed. The pushback from the Democrat's efforts to rid the public from Trump has ironically made him a much stronger contender for '24.

Scared? I call out projection. Most of the Republican participants on PF probably prefer Desantis over Trump or that he simply retire to a life of golf. But what most won’t stand for is the double standard of the left and trying to influence elections by weaponizing the judiciary.

No, it does not. That’s just wishful thinking.
I can partially agree with that.
That’s a possibility. Would it upset you?

Very true, but some people just refuse to be convinced. I have a theory for this. Some delude themselves into believing most are still MAGA because then they really couldn't continue their garden variety attacks on Trump's base.

Your theory makes sense to me. Some prefer trolling instead of honest discussion. The latter can produce the discovery of some common ground, as you observed just yesterday between myself and another. A little bit of tit for tat is alright, but then if there’s no real progress why continue wasting time?

If it turns out that the indictments are BS then, no it would not upset me.
Here is the difference between me and the Trump supporters (like yourself), I want the truth to come out. If Trump is not guilty or if the charges have been trumped up, I want to know that. Just as I want Trump held accountable if the charges are true.

There is the other difference. I want Trump held accountable for ACTIONS I believe he did that are illegal.
Trump supporters claim his innocence because he is Trump and no other reason. They don't care if what he did is illegal, they want him exonerated because of who he is not because of what he has (or hasn't done).
