Elon Musk bizarrely changed his name to 'Harry Bōlz' on Twitter, leaving some of his 134 million followers baffled.

Some people have speculated the tech mogul is plotting his next major project, while others believe he's simply playing with fans and it is nothing more than wordplay. More Twitter users believed it to be his alter ego.

Is the business mogul losing his mind or just trolling? First he turned twitter into Titter for the day, and now is going with "Harry Bolz (Harry Balls)" as his handle. Perhaps this is like the Freaky Friday movie and he traded bodies with a teenager. What comes next?

I’m just 3 years younger than Elon and I still appreciate sophomoric humor sometimes. Maybe he’s getting ready to launch a pube hair grooming product line to compete with the lucrative manscaping craze.

Nothing baffling here. He's calling himself "hairy balls." As long as I don't have to see them, I couldn't care less.

I don't think he's lost anything he ever had, it seems he's always been a self-centred man-child. If he was poor he'd be called insane, and probably locked up one way or another by now, but because he's rich, he gets to be "eccentric". It'd be better if people stopped giving him attention, though he'd probably just throw some kind of tantrum and end up making even more of a mess.

Nothing liberals hate more than a self made rich man who got rich providing goods and services that people want to pay money for.

Well he's not really self-made since he started out from a relatively wealthy and privileged background. He became even richer by investing in businesses he thought would be profitable, and the ones that also had other people involved in actually running them often were.

I don't hate him though (I don't do "hate" in general), I'm closer to feeling sorry for him if anything. He clearly has major anti-social character flaws but I suspect that is due to some form of neuro-divergence than any kind of conscious nastiness. The key problem is that there often doesn't seem to be anyone willing or able to tell him that and temper his negative behaviour.

In part because of that, I do dislike all the people (from all sides of the political spectrum) who treat him as some kind of glorious messiah who can do no wrong. There are loads of people who have been similarly successful in business, both those who started with wealth and the truly self-made, but they're not celebrated because they're not as desperate for public attention (often the exact opposite). And even though they're generally not as personally wealthy as Musk is, that doesn't mean what they're actually doing in their lives and businesses isn't more valuable. In fact, that can be a reason they're not as personally wealthy in the first place.

Bwahaha, that’s hilarious. I can’t stand it when people take themselves too seriously. This doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

A decade or so ago, maybe like 2010, there was this guy that would call up Good Morning America and getting on the air live. He called himself "Balsac Teabager", and he was hilarious! Managed to get on at least twice!

Give Elon a break, he is probably just trying to catch a tickle.

He started his first business with $28,000 of funding. That is not privilege. Privilege is getting over $555 of taxpayer money for the Solyndra scam or a piece of the Biden 1.2 Trillion Infrastructure scam. Can you tell us who even got this Infrastructure scam money or why perhaps you do not see these people as having privilege?

The liberal worldview is that privilege handed out via the public teat with the taxpayer paying the bill is a great thing. Starting a company with and small investment and producing goods and services that people want to buy is evil capitalism exploiting the people.

The elephant in the room - liberals hate Musk because he exposted and derailed your Twitter information operation. Be honest.

If I were an investor in his companies, I'd be worried. His behavior has been erratic since the Twitter takeover. Not what you want to see in the CEO of the company that you trust your investment money with.

Money his father just gave him. Most parents of people in their 20s couldn't afford to do that even if they were willing to. I'm not saying that is a bad thing in itself though, only that calling him self-made is inaccurate at best.

More than one person in the world can be privileged and other people engaging in scams doesn't make the blindest bit of difference to how Musk got where he is today.

I've never posted anything on Twitter (I'm of the Facebook generation anyway) and my interest in that field is more technical than social anyway. I am concerned when any individual gains significant power an influence on the basis of so many people believing they can do no wrong.
