I can see the Truth messages now. She's disloyal. I only gave her a job because she begged me for it......

Indeed, with her once rising star status a bit sullied regarding her last employment, Nikki Haley seems to be limping into the presidential race a bit.

Obviously lacking the over aspiring authoritarianism of Trump and DeSantis, and lacking the clear pandering of their brand of populism, there does not seem to be the much excitement over Haley running for president.

However, she once stood up to Trump for about 3 minutes, and maybe this will bring forth a more reasonable crop of GOPers that may enter the race. Intelligent, a bit more measured, a bit less racist.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ce-presidential-run-mid-february/11122023002/

WASHINGTON – Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley will formally launch her 2024 presidential run on Feb. 15, becoming the first Republican to jump into the field to challenge to Donald Trump, according to multiple sources familiar with her plans.

Haley has teased her presidential run for weeks, including a tweeted video this week in which she said: "It's time for a new generation to lead."

Aides are putting together a Feb, 15 announcement event in Charleston, according to three sources familiar with her plans who spoke to USA TODAY on condition of anonymity.

In recent months, Haley has cast herself as a new kind of Republican who can take new approaches to the nation's challenges, and to President Joe Biden and the Democrats.

"I think it's time that we bring in a new generation that can bring in more people to our party," Haley told Fox News in a recent interview.

Since Trump's defeat in the 2020 presidential race, Haley has sent mixed signals about her presidential ambitions. In April of 2021, she told reporters that “I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it."

I refuse to support any GOP candidate that does not overtly, clearly and definitively rejects Trump.

"would not pick Nikki Haley, his United Nations ambassador, as a running mate because she had a 'complexion problem.'"

Trump rejected her when he said she has a "complexion problem". I'd be surprised if she still supports Trump after being humiliated like that, but some people have no self respect.

She is, of course, a far better candidate than Trump could even be. As a matter of fact she is one of the better GOP candidates. The populist pseudo-conservative experiment didn't do us any good, and it would only get worse with a full authoritarian option like DeSantis

Yes, that is what I was referring to as well. She is not white enough for him.

Nikki Haley might have been a competent candidate in a different political environment. But everything Trump touches dies. I have a feeling that nobody who has ever associated themselves with Trump will ever be President. I doubt any of them, except Trump himself, will ever even be nominated by the GOP.

    I agree with this sentiment.

Trump would be the one moment of life I would think most do not want on their political Linkedin page.

Because Sen. Tom Cotton has already said that he will not run, I welcome the candidacy of Nikki Haley in the role of either president or vice-president.

I've said many times already that I would rather that Donald Trump not (NOT) run for the presidency again.

Trump was "a port in a storm", after Democrats had dredged up disgusting, hyperliberal candidates like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton (along with the current wanna-be 'wokester', Geriatric Joe). But if we're finally past that now, and we Conservatives are ready to produce far better candidates than we on the Right have had for the past thirty-four years, then it's time for Trump to retire to any one of his numerous golf course resorts....

Haley is part of the diminishing neocon wing of the GOP so I would be curious to see how well, or poor, that does in a GOP primary.

Your post is like a regurgitation of various bits of woke and left narrative, mainly uninteresting and uninspiring, but, I did want to respond to the title.

Nikki Haley Needs to Read the Room.

'When asked to chime in on the drama between Disney and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, she did worse than criticize DeSantis's handling of the issue (which is what Donald Trump has done).'

'And she did worse than take Disney's side (which is what Biden's White House and the Democrats have done).'

'She actually groveled and begged Disney to leave Florida and bring their business to South Carolina. (Which is kind of what evil, Marxist, Machiavellian Gavin Newsom has done.)'

'She even slammed DeSantis as "sanctimonious" (borrowing one of Trump's attacks) when she tweeted out the video of the Fox News exchange:'

So if she's running for VP, clearly she has her eyes set on being Trump's VP, not DeSantis'

'Yeah, she actually tweeted the video out...like she was proud of it. This isn't a Fox News appearance; this is a snuff film for her campaign.'

'has she not been paying attention to anything going on in this country over the past year? The fight between Disney and the State of Florida is rooted in the company attempting to meddle in state politics by threatening retribution over the new laws pertaining to sex and gender education for pre-schoolers. Pre-schoolers.'

'The state legislature and the governor, elected overwhelmingly by the people of Florida, passed a law restricting such instruction at least until the fourth grade.'

'Disney screamed bloody murder and began to use their considerable clout in the Sunshine State to try to lobby, cajole, pressure, and threaten lawmakers to allow kids not old enough to watch the latest Buzz Lightyear movie (it was rated PG) to hear instruction about their genitalia without parental consent. '

The Free Folks of Florida responded just like we want Conservatives want this offensive attack on our children responded to.

'Not only is DeSantis right to push back and expose Disney's hubris and arrogance, but he's showing Republican voters exactly how the levers of power can be used to advance conservative priorities while keeping the unbridled power of the Democrat/Corporate complex in check.'

'Haley's ham-handed effort to draw a distinction between herself and DeSantis was beyond clumsy; it was ignorant. Is she recommending that her home state hand over an autonomous zone in South Carolina to Disney and allow them to have tax-free control over hundreds of square miles?'

'The Florida government decided to give Disney these great benefits decades ago in exchange for Disney to build theme parks, hotels, and restaurants and attract tourists to Central Florida. That's it. That was the entirety of the deal. Disney violated that deal. Nowhere in the agreement was a stipulation that Disney would wield its power to ensure that children were exposed to transgender ideology, sex education, or any other grooming nonsense.'

Nikki seems to think that she is the Dylan Mulvaney of VP Candidates.

Judging from your posting history I would be very surprised if you were to support any GOP candidate in any way whatsoever.

Haley is not taking on anyone. She knows she has no chance of getting the nod. Haley is putting herself out there as a VP candidate. The GOP needs one.

The sad part is that everyone says they don’t want trump but the mechanism of the primaries will ensure that trump is the repub candidate.

    What makes her a neo-con?

She is a sane buoy in an ocean of MTGs, Gosars, Kaetzs and Boeberts aka the "idiot brigade". Not the only bouy, but one of the few.

I wish her luck, and would not mind seeing her with a moderate VP, like Rubio in the WH. We need fresh meat.

    LOL!

Nikki's desperation to make headlines after this weeks failed abortion speech .
Such a power hungry despicable opportunist.
Nikki's gurgling at the bottom of Boeboe and Gangreene's swamp trying to get her numbers up.

'Nikki Haley: Biden will likely die within five years'
"With recent polls showing voter concern over Biden's age, Republicans are divided about whether it should be a line of attack as the 2024 race heats up."

"Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley said Wednesday that President Joe Biden, 80, will likely die within five years and that his supporters would have to count on Vice President Kamala Harris if he were to win re-election next year.

“He announced that he’s running again in 2024, and I think that we can all be very clear and say with a matter of fact that if you vote for Joe Biden you really are counting on a President Harris, because the idea that he would make it until 86 years old is not something that I think is likely,” Haley, 51, said in an interview on Fox News."

Isn't that the norm for anyone running for president?

    That's the idea, isnt' it?

It is what it is. Life expectancy for a white male in US is 74.5 yrs. Biden is an old guy. There is no denying it. Its not even about him living or dying, because people that age are not 100% anymore. Reagan struggled big time last years in office and he was 'only' 77 when he left office.

They are divided only because their top candidate is about the same age

*Life expectancy is different once one REACHES Age 80:
The average life expectancy in the United States is 9.1 years for 80-year-old white women and 7.0 years for 80-year-old white men

Her position over Disney lost any support I might have given her. She indicated she was for sale to Corporations.

Well, that doesn't change the fact that he's an old guy. Even that statistic suggests he would die of OLD AGE only few years after leaving office.

She is right about Disney. Florida government is targeting Disney for political reasons, and they call it "leveling the playing field", when Disney is the ONLY target out of 2000 special districts in Florida. How does targeting ONE corporation out of 2000 level the playing field? DeSantis is corrupt as hell.

The Villages, a retirement community in Florida with over 80 000 residents, is a special district just like Disney was, and it was not touched. Only Disney was targeted. The area where Daytona race track is located, is a special district. This is textbook "political targeting".

Haley went on to say that when you vote for Biden you're actually voting for Harris.
What a whistle, Biden is dead and his black female VP is now your president.

What was that 30 years ago? When's the last time you voted for any Republican candidate?

I don't think the GOP has to worry about losing any vote from you anytime soon

The more important question would be when is the first time I voted for a Democrat for President.

That would be in 2020 when I voted for Biden.

As I've said repeatedly on this board, by embracing Trump and Trumpism the Republican party has done something the Democrat party was never able to do. It made me a Democrat.
