Everyone who is honest with themselves knows that states are being invaded because of Biden's border policies. These policies, or the lack thereof, have and are resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths and much suffering. So, this administration is not only violating the US Constitution but is also responsible for mayhem and mass murder. Section 4 "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."
Hi, Fred68. I've been around for the terms of some 15 Presidents and many, many more sessions of Congress. Through all of them, we have had people not only illegally crossing our borders, both northern and southern, but also overstaying their visas. There have been both Republican and Democratic Presidents. Congressional bodies, both Senate and House of Representatives, have been at one time or another under the control of either the Republican or the Democratic Party, individually or jointly. Yet, the 'invasions' continue. And so it goes. Regards, stay safe 'n well.
Hi, popscott. Thank you for attributing me with 'great wisdom'. I wish I could agree with you, but I cannot. I have noted before that there are many in this country who are far smarter and wiser than I am. It's up to them to find ways to significantly improve situations which are unsatisfactory. I can at best try to make people aware of some of the issues of the day that I feel merit attention. [Ed.: The preceding also answers the question, 'If you're so smart, why ain't you rich?' Torus isn't rich.] Regards, stay safe 'n well.
So do you agree or disagree with the OP…. “So, this administration is not only violating the US Constitution but is also responsible for mayhem and mass murder…”
Hi again, popscott. I agree that, barring a decision of the Supreme Court if the accusation is brought before them, it appears every administration and congress of which I've direct knowledge has done the same as the Biden administration. President Ronald Reagan did his best to blunt the impact of having millions of undocumented aliens in the country by granting them a path to citizenship. That, though, does not absolve him from not stopping aliens from entering the country illegally. Regards, stay safe 'n well.
Except it is not an invasion. If you want to use military terms such as invasion, remember what George S Patton said, "fixed fortifications, such as a wall, are a moment to man's stupidity." This is not saying we should not do anything, but Congress is not in the mood to do anything given the current budget crisis, and that is all on the GOP right now. If the GOP just passed a debt ceiling increase, then Congress can get to work in trying to solve this mess by spending more money at the problem with more CBP officers, building a wall at $37 million per mile, and so forth, in which we will still have the problem.
An invasion does not necessarily mean a military one. The following is a snippet from an OP of mine addressing the Democrat Party establishment: To our country’s detriment, you prioritize open borders and pander to illegal immigrants—your present and future voters and contributors. Your positions on illegal immigration and the southern border demonstrate that nothing is beyond the pale for you when it comes to power—not even murder, animal/botanical/human parasites and diseases, human trafficking, illicit drugs (with over 100,000 Americans dying per annum as a result), terrorists, illegal importation of guns, massive violation of immigration laws, suppression of wages for Americans as well as legal immigrants, taking jobs from citizens and legal immigrants, stressing social services including healthcare and education on the backs of taxpayers, violation of our sovereignty, financing gangs and cartels, and turning a blind eye to resultant lawlessness and carnage in the U.S. and in Mexico. As is typical of you, inconvenient facts and realities don’t matter and are ignored, especially regarding this issue. (Article 2, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution orders: “The President…shall take care that the Laws be faithfully executed...") Impeachment anyone?
And what happens if we default on our debt? That in and of itself will cut the CBP in half, maybe more. It will be a total government shutdown. Isn't that a failure of the laws on the books, the duty of Article 1 in the US Constitution? Shall they all be arrested or impeached too? Second, They are following the law. What you cannot do is prevent people from coming, one way or the other. For 7 years, visa overstayers outnumbered the number of illegals coming into this country. We also have policies and procedures. They are very complex because we have had to put bandaids on the law because of that crisis or this crisis. To give you a history lesson, in the 1980s we had 5000 CBP agents on the southern border. We have continually increased the number to what is currently 25000 CBP border agents. And it is still not enough. And those laws, to build a wall means Congress passing a bill to authorize the building, the payment, etc for that wall, and that ain't happening with the GOP wanting a 22% cut on all nondiscretionary, nonDoD spending, and that includes DHS BTW. Most are coming here for jobs. Pure and simple. They are young, healthy, and willing to work. They did not fill out all the paperwork, pay the fees, etc prior to coming, but they are coming because they are desperate. And no amount of CBP agents on the border is going to stop that. When it comes to illicit drugs, they are coming here because the consumers who are into that stuff, demand it. To the cartels, it is a business, pure and simple, a deadly business where greed gets in the way most of the time to either steal the money, the drugs, or both. But you cannot ignore the fact that we have a high demand for this stuff and that is our fault, no one else. Finally, when it comes to human trafficking, the group most vulnerable are runaway teens, or teens who are online and catfished. We had an incident in Dallas last year of exactly that. She was eventually found in Oklahoma. She is a US citizen. She talked to a guy, went outside, and was obducted at that point. She was forced into prostitution and trafficked in Oklahoma City, being advertised on Craigslist. That is where human trafficking is in this country because she made an honest mistake with deadly consequences. Luckily she is now safe and it will take years of therapy for her to get over it. And there are thousands of her stories all across the United States similar to hers. But nothing in your post meets the definition of invasion. Just internet gossip by people who do not live in reality at all.
dictionary.com invasion noun 1) an act or instance of invading or entering as an enemy, especially by an army. 2) the entrance or advent of anything troublesome or harmful, as disease. 3) entrance as if to take possession or overrun: the annual invasion of the resort by tourists. 4) infringement by intrusion. Oxford dictionary the act of an army entering another country by force in order to take control of it the fact of a large number of people or things arriving somewhere, especially people or things that are unpleasant the entrance or advent of anything troublesome or harmful, as disease. Except they are not an enemy designated by the US government. they are quite literally not following legal protocols to enter the country, and that is by no definition, "an invasion." They are not an army. An army is one that has weapons and the use of force to fulfill the political will of that nation's leadership of where they come from. YOu are quoting the definition, but not making any connection to an explanation as to why they are an invasion. It is internet hyperbole for those who do not know the law of any kind. None of them are trying to take control of this country. They are here to work, support their families, and so forth. That's it. They know they are hated on, but come anyway. And my experience has been with the Vietnamese Boat People who came and an event in League City, Texas where some of them were killed because they were better fishermen than the locals. That was the late 1970s boy.
So who gets to determine who is the enemy here? It is not every tom, dick and harry, is it. It is the United States Government, and even Trump didn't use those words because his own golf course still hires illegals to this day. Congrats on being used.
Clearly your generation had a better chance of controlling it and if they had, there would be far less nests for them to hide in today
It's an invasion. Border Patrol Union - NBPC @BPUnion · 6h Cartels are still running the border. That hasn't changed. They control the flow of illegal aliens coming in. Period. When the numbers go up, Biden and his minions blame "congress" & "our broken immigration system". But when the numbers go down for a few days they take credit. Border Patrol Union - NBPC @BPUnion · 6h While the Biden Admin and their MSM crow about how wonderful things are since T42 ended, the reality is that there are over 100k future illegal aliens waiting on the MX side of the border. They are being metered by the cartels and MX govt, but make no mistake they're coming. Border Patrol Union - NBPC (@BPUnion) / Twitter
in·va·sion [inˈvāZHən] NOUN an instance of invading a country or region with an armed force: "the Allied invasion of Normandy" · "in 1546 England had to be defended from invasion" 2. an incursion by a large number of people or things into a place or sphere of activity: "stadium guards are preparing for another invasion of fans" 3. an unwelcome intrusion into another's domain:
IMO, most of the permanent damage from the open border will be from the flow of the best and brightest from South and Central America into the US. The criminals and idlers coming into the US will disintegrate within a generation or two.
I hate to pee in your cheerios, but the best and brightest are going to Austalia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Portugal. There has been a "war" on immigrant talent depending on which country is involved. We are simply the closest and largest country where we have a large farming and other low-skilled jobs available in which no one is willing to work if they were born here. And that is why migration is changing. The high end talent is where the war is at. And they are not coming to the US in greater numbers as before. For instance, many from Venezuela are going to Columbia who are facing economic hardships which has been historical over the past, and not coming to the United States.
LOL, when a person uses the word "invasion," it generally is referring to a military incursion just like when people who use the word "gay" these days, they are not referencing someone who is happy, but a lifestyle and using the word in a negative pejorative manner, just like in your OP and how you referenced the word "invasion" against enemies both foreign and domestic. You do not get to make that determination. Congress does, and Congress, the United States Congress, won't do that, not even a Republican one.
Abbott does not want that either. And we already went to war, like in 1845, for political reasons, not logical ones after we voted to become a state, just barely BTW
I guess you are not old enough or did not care how we got involved in Mexican politics to get rid of the cartels in the Yucatan Peninsula in the 1980s in our war on Drugs. When that happened, along with the liberalization of the Mexican Economy, namely the Mexican oil industry, the collapse of the peso in the 1990s, etc, those very same Mexican Drug cartels migrated from the Yucatan Peninsula have migrated to the northern states and continued their operations. That being said, they are on the Mexican side of the border when they "control" things but do have connections with other gangs in the US in their distribution network to distribute said drugs because of our demand. Yes, when numbers go down, cartels, Presidents, and politicians will take credit. But when the numbers go up, they don't and pretty much blame everyone else, which is the modus operandi of one Donald J Trump on practically everything. So, what you are citing is nothing new and not germane to the discussion because Trump pretty much-used stereotypes about Mexicans than anything else and you people fell for it lock, stock, and sinker, bar none.

More has been studied in the skilled workers, especially in the Tech and STEM fields, but there is some, both positive and negative, with the unskilled worker's category. But we are in this talent war. The question you need to ask yourself, if there is no one willing to be a hotel maid, a day laborer in the agricultural field, or the other countless unskilled jobs out there, then who will do them?
