New Senate Bill Would Create Federal Agency to Police Americans for ‘Misinformation’ and ‘Hate Speec

This is something that might be needed, but in my opinion will never be done correctly. We all saw how the people in power make sure they get their message across loud and clear while the people not in power are censored and silenced. Also who decides what hate speech is and isn’t? We’ve already seen how that works.

My vote for this is a resounding NO!

I'm surprised Bennet(D.) would go along with a federal bureaucracy meant to regulate speech, as his own mother is a survivor of the Holocaust.

 

I’m definitely opposed to this. Why would we want to spend money to ensure people can’t freely speak? New government wages, new government buildings, new government equipment just to make sure free speech is not allowed. Only a democrat would be okay with this.

What I'd like to see would be some kind of standard for journalistic integrity. That used to be the tool that kept news reported as news, and not blurred into editorial content. That in turn, keep politics fairly accountable. When the media lost that, they lost all integrity- and the immoral instincts of politicians allowed them to take full advantage of it like carnival barkers pitching snake oil to the rubes.

Honor is a value that should be present in every person and every profession, but with some, it's critical. Politics and the media both are now running on the same level.
