Another victory for progressiveness. Now that they eliminated another capitalist pig from their growing utopia, they can now use this soon to be vacated property for housing for their ever growing indigent population.

Home of Pelosi whose former mayor was Newsom in a city with some of the most expensive real estate in the country known for its beauty and tourism, and it can't support a hotel - they want out.

    The liberal experiment has failed.

So many people who've never even spent a week in San Francisco care about every thing that happens there.

Other cities besides SF are in decline as a result of outrageous liberal governance. Chicago, New Orleans, New York, LA and others and the DC Swamp.

Yea, do you live in any of those cities?

the people who do live there are free to elect whoever they want.

it's not the business of anyone in SF who my mayor is or what they do. I won't want people from Chicago having any input on what happens in my town.

Yes, I agree, lemmings can elect whoever they want, and they can follow each other off the cliff.

That has nothing to do with being able to perceive the degraded and obscene quality of life delivered by today's liberal governance.

How can you know anything about the quality of life in a place that you've likely never been to or will ever visit?

It's basically just gossip about things you don't know anything about and that aren't any of your business.

I'm not blind, that's how. You might have missed it, but there has been very much coverage including videos of the quality of life in SF. Yesterday the owner of 2 very large hotels in SF threw in the towel, announcing he will let the banks foreclose on his 2 properties.

One need not visit to see videos of filth and widespread drug use on the streets. The City By the Bay is crumbling before our eyes.

I've lived in cities where the news would have you think it was a warzone, but i never felt unsafe walking around unarmed.

The same way the left cares about what's happening in Florida.

Eventually San Fran is going to have to do something and they will probably ask the federal government for your tax money to do it. The bigger issue it this problem is spreading to other cities.

I am not responsible for "the left". People should mind their own business.

Florida will eventually find out what the results of their dumb laws are. Just like SF will find out the results.

Yes, because the contagion of the far left, progressive philosophy will continue to spread at least as long as people vote for it. It can be spread to the people who don’t vote for if the far left takes control of the Federal Government. They will force it down our throats.

    - drug addiction is not a wonderful thing.
    - insane and homeless is not a wonderful thing.
    - stealing from stores as a vocation is not a wonderful thing.
    - violent demonstrations are not wonderful things.
    - setting races against one another is not a good thing.
    - tearing down statues and other aspects of western culture to replace it with anarchy is not a good thing.
    - city officials and district attorneys who refuse to prosecute criminals are not humanitarians
    - electing public officials who oppose law and order is not progress.

Yes, this is a partial list of the what progressivism is. Its advocates say it is liberating, but it’s really suffocating.

How many weeks have you spent in Ukraine? You have over 150 post on Ukraine according to forum search results.

    Yea I have.

Have I been saying what I think the government of Ukraine should do? or even criticizing them?

I suspect the vast majority of my posts on that topic have been mocking Russia lovers.

Denver, which is following the San Fransisco model, I'm very intimate with. It's literally too dangerous to travel downtown anymore and the rest of the surrounding cities are also becoming chit holes!

Companies leaving in droves due to the rampant crime and filth plaguing Denver.

Even our iconic Blake Street Tavern has succumbed to the disastrous progressive policies.

Translation: don’t pay any attention to the failure of my ideology! Look away please! Don’t connect dots, don’t draw conclusions, and above all, don’t learn anything! God knows I haven’t! Can’t wait to vote in the next epic failure but until then don’t pay attention to meeeeeeeeeeee

It’s really strange watching Republicans cheer areas that are struggling while also proclaiming to be “patriots”. I have never once cheered self-inflicted wounds that red states have made especially in the area of economic development, education and healthcare — it’s strange to wish harm to your fellow citizens even if you disagree with their policies.

Large cities have been hit hard due to work from home programs which have seen office values plummet and are destroying local businesses dependent on these offices being full. They will have to rethink their current system or they will look like the cities that refused to change when auto manufacturers left.

I don’t think anyone is cheering the struggles of San Fran. Instead, I think people are mocking the mindset that’s allowing San Fran to crumble.

This is becoming every city's problem to some degree or the other. To be political, the GOP is right in wanting to shut down the borders to help curb drugs and the GOP is wrong for not supporting getting everybody healthcare and access to treatment, including substance abuse treatment. I don't know all the answers, but I know we are going in the wrong direction (and accelerating) on so many issues.

Or maybe it succeeded. Creating dependence forces people to vote for crumbs.

What is cared about is the agenda that is pushed most heavily in places like San Francisco which showcases the policy failures then being instituted and supported in other areas.

I don't see any cheering, but well deserved criticism. Dems have unobstructed power, abundant resources, and enjoy high taxes here in CA. Criticizing the harm dems inflict on those they claim to care the most about does not make it any more harmful.
