I heard that he did from anonymous sources. The type that leaked the indictment information without authorization.

That's because there's nothing to it. The accusations against Biden come down to somebody in Ukraine telling Rudy Giuliani, that he'd heard this, from some Ukrainian oligarch. It is third-hand hearsay. Nevertheless, under President Trump, the FBI had set up an office just for all the rumor based allegations against Biden. And, looking at this particular bribery allegation, they had found it did not even meet the minimum requirement, to legitimize the opening of an investigation. Again, this was when Trump was still in office.

But unsurprisingly, now that Trump is being indicted for at least some things that we know for a fact, he did, many voices on the Right are going to say "but Biden...!" Actually, most will probably skip that, if they're taking their cue from politicians, and just accuse Pres. Biden of "weaponizing" the Justice system, to go after his political rivals. Because Trump is as innocent of any wrongdoing, as a baby.

Jack Smith didn't issue an indictment. He isn't part of the DOJ.

Why should he have if he believed he had a right to them? He saw other president had kept them going back to Clinton. All of this will come up in the trial.

FBI whistle blowers and the Durham report makes me very skeptical about how the DOJ is handling Biden’s case. The FBI told Comer they are still investigating it. I have my doubts about that.

Do you have a source-- other than Comer? The Democratic Representative who was in the very same briefing, said that Director Wray said no such thing. As I explained, this was looked at under Trump, and closed, for lack of any credibility. You should treat anything you hear from Rep. Comer, the same way-- because he's a liar.

He's clearly guilty of this and other crimes, and he deserves jail time. I'm just not sure what the effect of prosecuting him is going to have on the political climate and the country as a whole. The anti-Trump folks are so focused on knocking him down that they may not have considered the ramifications of doing so. Prosecuting him is going to make him even more influential to his party and his voters. It's going to turn him into a victim in the eyes of some, even though there is no man alive who is less of a victim than Trump. He can even still run for president if convicted and even if in jail. His supporters clearly have no hangups with voting for a corrupt liar, and his being prosecuted isn't going to change that. So when you add his newly acquired victim status, the rabid devotion his base feels, and the way the inept Biden administration and progressives in Congress routinely go off the deep end effectively making the case for the return of some MAGA ****, there is much to worry about.

Prosecuting him is a good thing for justice and fairness and morality. But sometimes doing the right thing can bring even worse consequences than the acts you did the right thing to stop. All that remains to be seen.
I'm not saying it's wrong to prosecute him, just that the potential fallout has been ignored in all the excitement to hold him responsible.

If Trump is found guilty of violating the Espionage Act, however, he will be waiting out those appeals, in a prison cell (probably more like a room, in a minimum security federal prison).

Not a travesty in any shape or form.
It's democracy and rule of law in action. No one is above the law. No matter who they think they are.

Trump isn't going to prison. You can forget that. There's no way a Secret Service protected is going to be put in a prison.

Pence has been cleared from further investigation after he voluntarily returned his classified documents when he was made aware he had some.
trump tried to hide his and a raid on his home had to take place to retrieve them.

Pence is also a presidential candidate.

AFAIK, Biden has not been cleared yet. But Biden also cooperated with returning documents.

The cult leader was uncooperative. Because he thinks he is above the law. Don't be a member of the cult.

Of they were cleared. That concrete evidence of a double standard...lol

The cultists are the ones who don't see the double standard.

    Leaked by trump himself.

    ...
Former President Donald Trump has been indicted on seven federal criminal charges in connection with hundreds of classified government documents he retained at his Florida home after leaving the White House.

Trump himself disclosed the indictment in a series of posts
on his Truth Social social media site on Thursday evening. He also said he has been summoned to appear in court in Miami on Tuesday.

I guess you don't know what a double standard is.
Pence is a republican. And a presidential candidate.

Well, what your reply ignores, is the fact that our "Justice" system, is supposed to ignore "potential fallout." Nevertheless, if Trump is convicted under the Espionage Act (which is reportedly one of the charges), that will mean real prison time, which will take the wind out of all but the most devoted of the Trump throng. That is not a large enough part of the electorate, to win a national election. How many Independents, will vote for a man who would be spending his entire term, in prison?... Who knows-- the DOJ may have been considering the fallout, after all.

You are wrong, obviously. Do you think Trump could just start shooting people, and not be imprisoned, because of his Secret Service protection? I had been thinking, for the reason you cite, that for the obstruction charge, he would not likely get worse than house arrest. But I hadn't known they would be charging him for espionage! Secret Service or no, a conviction on that, guarantees the guilty party will locked up.
