Star Chambers can always find reasons to prosecute people they wish to destroy and also ignore the crimes of people to whom they ;kowtow. Same old, same old. Is there anyine who still thinks the judicial system is impartial and non-political?

Since this is a "crime" with no punishment prescribed by law then we know it is political prosecution - something that is against the law on the other hand. It's purpose is not to right a wrong. It's purpose is to hurt Trump's election campaign-at least in the primaries. It will do the opposite in my view. It will further hurt the reputation of the DOJ and help Trump gain sympathy from the conservative electorate. It will help DeSantis as well. I'd like to stop Trump also but this isn't the way to do it.

''A lawyer for Mr. Trump, Jim Trusty, told CNN on Thursday night that the former president’s legal team had not been shown the indictment itself but that the court summons gave some details on the charges. He mentioned alleged Espionage Act violations, false-statement charges and “several obstruction-based” charges, including offenses under Section 1512, which criminalizes witness tampering or other means of obstructing an official effort.''

PRETTY SURE THERE IS 'JAIL TIME' IN THERE!

Ahh, sleazebag Dershowitz tries his hardest to still be invited to Mar a Lago for Trump's New Year's Eve bash.
What Republicans or Democrats think about his indictment is a moot point, all that matters is that the DOJ believes their evidence will prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Funny though that Dershowitz didn't throw his go-to "unconstitutional" card.
Even he knows Trump is ****ed with the evidence against him.

    'COLUMNISTS'

'Indictment of Trump — the Leading Candidate To Unseat the Administration — Is a Moment To Keep an Open Mind and Wait for the Facts'

'The burden is on this administration to demonstrate that the case is so strong that failing to bring it would be a great injustice.'

Will we know on Tuesday if anyone else is also indicted?

    So far I haven't read anything about Trump's co-conspirators.

Should people be prosecuted because they're running for office? That's the only reason this is happening.

    But, imagine this scenario:

    Trump is convicted.
    Desantis is elected president.
    Desantis pardons Trump.
    Desantis appoints Trump as AG.

The law of unintended consequences are a real bitch...lol

Trump has committed crimes. There really isn't any doubt.

No, i'm not going to pretend it is in question and entertain your follow up question.

Oh yeah, no doubt other people will be indicted.

This isn't just about getting rid of Trump. It's about burning everyone associated with him to send a message to anyone else to stay away.

    It's full Joe Stalin.

That is the funniest and most ignorant suggested scenario to date.

Trump, America's first Attorney General without a law degree.

Ruh Roh... looks like the fix is already in

    SNIP
Judges in most federal cases are assigned at random. But the apparent nods to Cannon and Reinhart on the summons for Trump might actually reflect the fact that both have already played roles in the proceedings, experts said.

"If the case is being overseen by the same district and magistrate judges, that means the court likely considered the indictment to be 'related' to the search warrant and intentionally assigned it to those judges," former senior Justice Department national security official Brandon Van Grack told ABC News.

After the last debacle, there is no way Loose Cannon is allowed to preside, right?

If they did, lock them all up.

Trump committed crimes, and should be locked up. Anyone else who did should also be locked up. Them not being locked up, doesn't mean that Trump shouldn't be locked up.

I know this is a rough time for you, but Trump is a criminal and the worst thing that has happened to the US in any of our lifetimes, including 911.

Why aren't they being held to the same standard?

    Trump isn't getting "locked up"...lol

Trump is a criminal. Trump is indicted because he has committed crimes.

No one else has anything to do with Trump. You can make excuses for him, but i do not care. Your opinion on this topic isn't one that i care about.

I'll take that bet. It isn't about jail. It is about the 2024 election.

More like everyone caught up in Trump's corrupt schemes curse the day they met him and will forever kick themselves in the ass for thinking that when going forward in their careers having served Trump on their resume will orbit them into great wealth, respect and power.

The question was " When was DJT ever convicted of a crime". Asked and answered.

    Interesting "hypothetical"...
And, about as "likely" as Pigs Flying and the world ending before I submit this post...
