Chris Christie Booed After Criticizing Donald Trump At Conservative Event

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) received a frosty reception Friday at a conservative confab after he criticized former President Donald Trump, one of his rivals in the 2024 White House race.

“I’m running because he’s let us down,” Christie told a crowd of several hundred social conservatives gathered at the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference at the Washington Hilton hotel.

“He’s unwilling to take responsibility for any of the mistakes that were made, any of the faults that he has, and any of the things that he’s done.”

Several angry Trump supporters in the crowd jeered, and one woman yelled, “We love Trump!”

That Christie has no chance of winning the GOP nomination is a blessing.

Biden would have great difficulty beating him.

Fortunately, the MAGA remain loyal to Trump, the most toxic politician in US history.

This bodes well for 2024.

 

Not really. Any election where trump is involved is certain to turn into another attack on democracy when he loses.
The best thing for America is if trump is not the gop candidate.

It's not "some unheard of event", it's the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference, where most of the GOP presidential candidates bow down to the evangelical extremist GOP base, to garner the primary votes. That's why Christie doesn't have a chance there. Watch the GOP frontrunners go crazy with their speeches, in search for applause from the crowd. It's sad what the GOP has become.

There is a major difference between 2020 and 2024.

Now we know what to expect with Trump.

And when he loses in 2024, he won't have the powers he had when he was POTUS, he won't be able to short-circuit the transition of power like he did.

Until the MAGA suffer further punishment from the voters, they'll still believe they're the voice of the majority.

Which they are not.

And Biden has a better chance of winning against Trump than against any other candidate.

And he might even win against Biden this time. Conservatives are the majority voting block in the USA. And independents have been burned by Biden and his approval rating is at an all time low.

It's my impression that a majority of voters on the right don't tolerate criticism of Trump. That pretty much seals Trump's place as front runner.

Anyone who doesn't vote for Trump pretty much doesn't have a place in the Republican Party anymore. And 2024 will be a repeat of 2016 when disenfranchised Republican voters who didn't want to vote for Trump were stuck with voting for Hillary Clinton, and she still lost!

This doesn't look good for Christie.

He has let America down. 1) In creating the conditions for the 1/6 riots to exist in the first place and 2) in not cooperating with and exposing the documents pertinent to the National Security of the United States.

He's no longer, if he ever was, qualified to be POTUS.

 

The party still belongs to tRump and his loyal Oompa Loompas.
