I agree with that (in so far as what Swedes will say publically) but religious conversion requires belief, not lip service.

I'll take your word for it but that would apply "to avoid harassment and taunting" not a willingness to convert to Islam. I shop in Rosengård maybe once a month. If I were to guess I'd say there is no more than one Swede in every 500 foreigners living there and if you see a European Moslem woman you can bet she is Bosnian.

I don't know how old you are but if you want to know what Swedes REALLY think you'll have to sit at the front of the bus for the elderly and mention the immigration problem. You will discover a world you didn't know exists.

 

For that specific statement, I was referring to Swedes who might modify their behavior in public to act more "Muslim". Typically these might be lower income Swedes in neighborhoods that are over 80% Muslim. Typically these will be women or children.
That is a little bit of a separate issue from actually converting to the religion. But sometimes they will go far, such as a single parent family choosing not to eat any pig meat. Women who will wear a headscarf in public as a fashion, to fit in and try not to clash with her neighborhood community.

Mostly impressionable young women who hold liberal beliefs in the cities. And children and teenagers.

The Soviets used all traditional antisemitic tropes in their anti-Zionist propaganda. When left wing anti-Zionists repeat the old Soviet propaganda, they are further disseminating antisemitic libels. Anti-Zionist propaganda goes hand-in-hand with anti western, anti American propaganda. This is one of the reasons for Muslims' hatred of America today. The other is, of course, the Salafi position that Muslims should go back to the purity of the beginnings of Islam, when there were no influences from the outside world (so they claim).

 

The problem with criticizing Islam that there are over a billion of them followers and people nitpick the absolute tiniest fraction (like ISIS) of that group to slander them all as if they are all like that. That the very bulk of those people with their scholars oppose it, gets dishonestly ignored. While things some people who follow Islam do (like the way they dress), can just as well be a cultural thing. But that too is non of their concern. Them lot who "criticize" just like to discriminate, and think it's alright to do it since it's not racist. While it's on par with racism. And that usually ends up with "the left" saying the criticism is unjust.

sure sure. And than usually what I spot is that people go interpret 1 line that got translated from Arabic to English, without any regard to context. For instance Surah 9:5 mentions "Then kill the disbelievers (non-Muslims) wherever you find them, capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush". This is where the general criticizer insist it must mean all disbelievers everywhere, but the context is about those disbelievers who betrayed Mohammed's peace treaty. Them haters come by a dime a dozen. Don't make me laugh. And you're free to put on that shoe if that fits.

The above is usually the case. In the end the thing is that when white Christian Europe went apesh** against who ever did not follow the right flavor of Christianity, it meant they head needed to be removed if there was no willingness to be converted. The Islamic Ottoman empire, was not without it's flaws, but there was a reasonable high amount of tolerance. High enough for Jews to flee Europe and go to them. Heck, if it wasn't for religious persecution in Europe, there would have been no thanksgiving.
