Probably complicates Dem vote rigging. But as to who it hurts more it is hard to say. As a registered Independent who has voted for Trump I probably would vote for RFK Jr. as I once voted for Ross Perot Tired of the fake two party dichotomy. Time is running out for a different approach.

Helps Biden in the sense it will drain money from the GOP; helps Trump in that it will drain votes from the DNC.

Why should the GOP waste money on Robert Kennedy, Jr? He's Biden's problem.

If you are a Republican who thinks that RFK, Jr. is a closet conservative, you are badly mistaken.

Unsure who will benefit. He's an option for both Trump and Biden voters who don't want to vote for either men anymore, and an option for those who've never voted for either of them as well.

He won't win, but I think the more high profile third party candidates that run and bring attention to the fact that we DON'T have to live under a self-imposed two party system will do nothing but good. Yeah it'll probably split some votes. Tough ****. We have to break the two party pattern.

Eh, **** conservatives and liberals. They are out of ideas, and only care about defeating the other side at any cost, regardless of the damage to America. I choose option C.

I can't blame RFKjr; the Republicans have Trump and he's a proven candidate,
and the Democrats won't accept anyone who tells the truth, so RFKjr has a problem.

Good! He has a greater chance of appealing to the MAGA base than the Dem base so he should beautifully split the GOP vote :D

He's most certainly a liberal democrat, but he responds to reason and loves America and that we can always work with.

ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR., DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT: 'I'm going to be in Philadelphia on October 9 to make a major announcement at the very birthplace of our nation. I'm not going to tell you right now exactly what that announcement will be. I can say, though, that if you've been waiting to come to one of my public events, this will be the one to come to.'

'I'll be speaking about a sea change in American politics and what your part and my part is in that change. A lot of Americans who had previously given up any hope that real change would ever come through the American electorate process have begun to find new hope in my candidacy. And I understand the deeply felt concern that people have about the way corruption has overtaken our government. It's in the executive branch. It's in Congress. It's in the leadership of both political parties. And so, some people feel a kind of cynicism alongside the hope, or they lose hope entirely because they've been disappointed so many times.'

'I want to tell you now what I've come to understand after 6 months of campaigning: There is a path to victory. The hope we are feeling isn't some kind of trick of the mind. We all recognize that there's a genuine possibility of national transformation and its source is the goodness of the American people.'

'Our government may be crooked, but our people are kind, brave, and caring. That goodness is stronger than the divisions that are keeping us all apart. I see it every day on the campaign trail. And the more I see it, the more I trust it. And the more I trust it, the more the path to victory becomes visible.'

    Our government is certainly crooked.

'So how are we going to win against the established Washington interests? It's not through playing the game by the corrupt rules that the corrupt powers, the vested interests have rigged to keep us all in their thrall. Instead, we're gonna have to rewrite the assumptions and change the habits of American politics.'

'We're going to tap into a mighty surge of people power and reclaim an honest, peaceful, just, and prosperous America. So I am inviting you to join me in Philadelphia on October 9. There I'll share with you our path to the White House and how we can all participate in healing our nation.'

Gold Bless you RFK and happy campaigning!

I heard on the news on the radio today that RFK had been polling (prior to this announcement) at 15% among Democrats (higher percentage vs Biden the Democratic frontrunner than all the Republicans but DeSantis running against Trump the frontrunner.). So obviously, maga types aren't the only ones interested in seeing RFK run, and it seems more voters would be pulled away from Biden than from Trump if RFK ran independently.

I’d say no effect. In an average election year third parties received an average of 1.5% of the total vote. 2016 was an exception to that as 6% voted third party. 2016 was an election where both Clinton and Trump were disliked and not wanted to become the next president. 56% of all Americans viewed Clinton negatively or unfavorably, 60% viewed Trump the same way. Question 10 and 11. 2020 was back to a more normal 1.8% voting third party.

However, I do expect a high third-party vote in 2024 since both Trump and Biden are disliked by most Americans and neither is wanted to become the next president. I also expect a low voter turnout as many will refuse to choose between them since they dislike and don’t want neither one. 60% of all Americans don’t want Biden to run again, 56% don’t want Trump to run again either. Questions 14 and 15. Another election like 2016 between two disliked and unwanted candidates for most of America.

But RFK Jr. won’t make a difference. He’ll just be another option on however many states he’s able to get on the ballot. It’ll be who the folks who disliked and don’t want neither Trump nor Biden, their decision on who they’ll vote for that will determine the outcome. It’ll be who these folks decide is the lesser of two evils, the least worse major party candidate, the candidate they want to lose the least, not win, but lose the least as they want both Trump and Biden to lose.

Rather than acknowledge that RFK Jr. is an accomplished man, the Dems, including the ones here on PF, defame him using terms like "notorious conspiracy theorist". Well I read his book and it was one of the most documented books I ever read. At times, 3 footnotes per sentence. So well documented it was hard with respect to requiring a lot of time to read. His noted law career of course is ignored. His populist political positions are ignored. His non profit environmental work is ignored. So what it comes down to is the Dems are are party of innuendo intended to appeal to the low information voters. What does the Dem party stand for other than free stuff, losing wars that are won, starting new wars, open borders, promoting deviance, and rigging their own primary elections? The propoganda put out on the Internet regarding RFK Jr. certainly indicates the establishment Dems are scared of him. I would encourage any open minded person to read his book and come to your own conclusions. BTW, RFK Jr. wants a secure border. Something Trump claimed to want, but then did nothing other than posture for the low information Republican voters.

BTW, everybody wants a secure border... the question is, how would this notorious conspiracy theorist go about accomplishing that without a functioning HOR?

lol at your slur. Have you read his book? Of course you have not. Why read the book when talking points can be parroted in place of a well reasoned debate? What is HOR? Tell me what HOR means and I will try to answer your question.

Are you serious? You cannot get HOR from the context of my sentence??

    House of Representatives..

The answer is that when RFK Jr. gets elected President, the House will be led by the Labour/Socialist/Ooompa Loompa party, so it'll be a wash...
