Mike is right. Hispanic is not a race. It is a location. Hispanics - people who come from Spanish or Latin American countries come in all races. Peru had a Japanese president at one time. My blue eyed mother was a caucasian born in Cuba. There are millions of blacks in Latin America as well as Indians and mixed races. Hispanic is a perfectly useful word, it just doesn't have anything to do with race..

Hispanic is a field used in tabulating crime data...same as black, white, Asian etc. It's not historically considered white. There are "European" white Hispanics. Jesus Ayala who ran over the retired sheriff in Los Vegas was not "European" white. This tells me that Hispanics are probably a much higher ratio of our crime total then we are being led to believe. And that whites are much less.
