They have plenty of gas. Underground storages are full. They are the largest in Europe.

That's good. Glad to hear. I have heard they are approving restarting coal fired power plants.

I guess nuclear is just too tough of a pill to swallow for a lot of people right now.

I suspect emotion is running the country, not logic.

    Germany had two problems -

1 - Trump told/warned Germany not to rely on the likes of Russia for energy, but they laughed, even the US Democrats laughed. Who's laughing now.

2 - Wind and solar are the Mickey Mouse of energy production, and costly. They went full Mickey Mouse and are now suffering.

I'm surprised they kept fossil fuel plants to crank back up, I would have thought they would have gone full retard and scrapped them totally.

As opposed to making decisions and taking action ideologically and then taking no responsibility for the outcome?

So the circle is now complete. We're back to the beginning. Do you have a point?

She rather play dumb than admit that she’s wrong.

    Her own link;

    Coal in Germany

“Today, unlike hard coal, the remaining opencast lignite mining operations are still a profit-making business, with most of the coal being used in power stations that are close to the mines.”

“There are three working brown coal mining district left in Germany……”

To put it all in perspective. In the summer they idle or mothball the coal fire plants. Come late fall, they get them ready again as a back up, Those are lessons learned since the start of the Ukraine war. Nobody can predict how the winter will be. Last winter everybody predicted gloom and doom and nothing happened, except that last summer the energy prices went through the roof.
Because last winter was mild Germany's underground storages were still half full in the Spring.

It is a precaution, nothing more.

    Suffering?
Mickey Mouse does close to 50%, sometimes even more. Sure the transition is expensive going from centralized to decentralized, or having the huge off shore farms in the North, expensive new infrastructure needs to be built to get the power to the South. Takes time and a lot of money to get Mickey Mouse done.

The size of the country and the amount of people makes it so that the infrastructure is about the same to transport electricity.
Your claim is unfounded and just an opinion.

When did wind and solar are garbage and we shouldn't be trying to support it.

Hardly, the quote proves that your claim is in error.

    Impossible.

The German power and other infrastructures make the US look like a 4th world country.

How was the "wind and solar are garbage" conclusion reached?
    They aren't garbage.

I can think of a hundred things I'd not want to work 50% of the time, heat and electricity being the top of the list ;)
