I don't think anyone has excused Hamas' actions. They are barbaric and terrible. What people are getting upset about is the way civilians in Gaza are getting massacred. It is no more tolerable than what Hamas did, as wrong as it was.

 

Your analysis, IMO, is utterly wrong. First off, Ukraine has continued regaining its territory, taken by Russia, in the earlier part of its invasion-- albeit at now, a slower pace. There is no basis for the judgement that Ukraine "was never going to (win)" this war-- on the contrary, both in the U.S. and abroad, the top political leadership, as well as military leaders, have been contending all along that "Ukraine must win." If you have relegated this being thought of as some sort of Vietnam type situation, in which the fighting is never expected to change the ultimate outcome, it would only mean that you are being arbitrary in your generalizations, and show that you have not given this specific conflict, any significant consideration.

Secondly, the most urgently needed military supply, for Ukraine, is ammunition. And, while there is only so much manufacturing capacity, the biggest hurdle to Ukraine's continuing to receive the necessary ammo, remains the opposition of some Republicans in our House of Representatives (combined, now, with their leaderless dysfunction). It should be noted, however, that Russia has also run into ammunition shortages, requiring their going, hat in hand, to North Korea, to resupply.

So, assuming the Chinese do not start supplying Russian ammo-- the extension of this timeline strongly favors the ability of the united West, over Russia & its few allies in this fight, to keep up with ongoing demands. Do you understand? North Korea is now supplying Russia, from its old stockpiles. Once those are used, it will come down to which side can manufacture more, to keep its side, in the fight, "loaded." And Russia, North Korea, and potentially Iran, is definitely going to be the losing team, on that score. So you are trying to snatch defeat, from jaws of victory, but advocating that we give up the fight, before Russia depletes its N. Korean backup stores of bullets, shells, and missiles.

 

I think the Palestinians were betrayed by the UN in 1948 when it violated its own Charter by not calling for free elections in Palestine. Instead it awarded a majority of Palestine's land to a minority of its inhabitants.

Currently, the US desire for regime change in Russia and supporting its "unsinkable aircraft carrier in the Middle East" (Israel), explains most of the bloodshed in Ukraine and Palestine. I suppose the US will back Netanyahu's upcoming land grab in Gaza?

The issue is that hamas does not represent palestinians, it's an independent militia group created in order to retaliate with force against the Israeli government. The PLO is the representative of the Palestinian ppl. The Israeli government is representative of the Israeli ppl and the Israeli government is barbaric and terrible, assassinating dozens of journalists this week because they were exposing how the Israeli government has been targeting civilians be they in hospitals, refugees camps or convoys LEAVING Palestine.

The Israeli government is representative of the white Jewish Europeans who reside there, human savages.

I'm not trying to do anything. I support Ukraine. And your point about ammunition is exactly what I am talking about. You can have all the weapons in the world, but without a constant stream of ammunition coming in, you're in trouble.

Israel dropped more bombs in a week than the US dropped in Afghanistan in a year, and they are just getting warmed up. I don't think there is much chance of the crisis not ballooning into a larger regional war. There is far more support for Israel in Washington than the Ukraine, and Israel is where we will likely be sending all of our munitions.

I'm just calling it how I see it. I hope Ukraine can pull it off, but I doubt it.

 

End the illegal occupation/blockade of Gaza by greedy, bloodthirsty Jews, and you will eliminate the need for resistance. You can not maim, murder, decapitate, and displace millions of innocent Palestinians without receiving payback.

 

Not this old debunked lie. No missile hit the convoy as it was a car bomb that exploded. Hamas doesn't want civilians to be allowed to flee. They don't want their human shields to escape.

 

There is no reason to assume that the Israeli- Hamas conflict, will greatly expand. What we are seeing now-- scattered and essentially meaningless artillery exchanges, at the Lebanese border-- is probably all that we will see. What scenario, specifically, do you foresee? My impression of your last couple of posts, is that you just have an overall pessimistic outlook on things-- not that you have reason to anticipate some particular chain of events.

Israel is certainly aware of the Hezbollah threat, and is no doubt stationing a sufficient force, of their now swelling military, to guard against this. Hamas, on their other flank, does not have the military might, to invade and subdue Israel (that's why they must focus on attacking civilians). Unless Israel really F's this up, there is no reason to expect a wider, regional conflict. If that happened, however, U.S. forces would join the fight, using their own ammo supplies-- not those, slated to go to Ukraine. Also, remember that, though the U.S. is a crucial supplier to Ukraine, we are far from its only ally.

You are jumping the gun, with your, at this point, unwarranted presumptions of a worst case scenario, being the obvious, or even the most likely, eventuality.

And our response after 9/11 was wrong as ****. 20 years in Afghanistan, 8 in Iraq, and I was there 4 of those years as an infantryman. The emotional response in Israel is going to get thousands and thousands of innocents butchered. This Israeli teenager teenager who survived the Hamas attack is far wiser than any politician or media talking head I've seen so far on the issue in her demands to stop the Israeli bombing. The Palestinians are Hamas. Brothers, Uncles and Sons of those in Gaza make up Hamas. Gaza is where they live together. The reason they survive is that nobody is as depraved as they are.
