Unless it was a war with Mexico to seal the border, I doubt it would this time. That is the issue Trump owns that independents strongly agree with him on.

I personally don't plan to vote for either of them. A vote for Joe is a vote for President Kamala Harris and I just don't have the mental bandwidth for 4 more years of Trump.

Desperate lengths. That is already quite clear.

I think all that represents taking a very big chance of a massive backfire. Going overboard trying to destroy someone can certainly look very bad for those engaging in the overboard activity.

Or it's a simple choice between two choices and a comparison of which one has and will make better policy decisions for the citizens of the country.

Well, it's clear we see this election thru 2 different lenses... In past elections, it was important to have a reason to vote for your candidate. I think 2000 was the best example of that.

Just don't think it was important in 2020 and will be similar with the rematch in 2024. With a binary choice, I'm perfectly happy to vote against the worst candidate possible.

“The reality is, rightly or wrongly, chaos follows him, and we all know that’s true … and we can’t have a country in disarray and a world on fire and go through four more years of chaos. We won’t survive it.”

She's mostly right.... chaos doesn't follow him, he pushes it in front of him

Metaphorically of course... the thought of Trump pushing anything other than a tee in the ground cracks me up...

Trump will win Arizona. Yes, lefties are pulling out all of the anti-Trump stuff they can, the very stuff that makes Trump stronger but the fools haven't figured that out yet. I doubt they ever will.

With Kari Lake stumping for him? Absolutely!!

    :roflol::roflol:

Personally, I think it would be more likely for him to win Georgia back than Arizona. I suspect Arizona is on the fast track to being a blue state, like 2.5 of their neighbors...

Biden's handlers didn't even bother informing him that the Secretary of Defense had been hospitalized for four days.

CNN — President Joe Biden was not aware for days that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was hospitalized, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan ultimately informed Biden late Thursday afternoon, soon after Sullivan himself learned Austin had been hospitalized, the source said. Austin was admitted to the hospital on New Year’s Day due to complications from an elective surgery.

Except one of those choices is likely to be the only president to have tried to hold onto power after losing an election.

Tried through fake electors, through pressuring the VP to ignore the will of the people, through inciting his followers to violence in an effort to prevent the legitimate EC votes from being confirmed.

It is reprehensible that any American would even consider voting for a man who did such things. Who attacked the Constitution he had sworn to uphold.

I suspect many millions will vote for Trump and because they liked the state of the country much better then and because they simply don't agree with all this very heavy on the drama stuff. But some are so deeply entrenched in TDS, they can't even see clearly anymore.

I should maybe re-phrase what I said about Trump. When I said "You know what you get" with him, I meant - hey, he's full of bluster. Heck, everyone knew that in 2016 and knows it now. But he flat-out tells you who and what he is thru that bluster; the guy has no filter. You can agree with it or not but in that sense he's open about who and what he is. It's no mystery at all what you're voting for if you vote for him. Yeah, he's got chaos in that skull of his but in that sense he's pretty honest and open about what you're getting if you cast your vote his way. With Biden, no one knows who really is running the ship of state so what is a vote for Biden really a vote for? It's almost a choice of the Devil you know to the Devil you don't.

I'll tell you what's worse: The Dems saying we're taking Trump off the ballot - now that makes Trump look like a victim to undecideds; it looks like the Dems trying to cheat their way to a win and there's gonna be a backlash. Sure, your basic Dem is cheering it on but a) it looks bad to undecideds and b) now the red states can do it back to Biden. Lord help me for agreeing with Gavin Newsom on anything but he was absolutely right when he said "...in California, we defeat candidates at the polls."

I'll go back to the 2016 elections because again, I think 2020 was an outlier because of Covid - yeah, you had plenty of people voting against the candidates rather than for another. But articulating reasons why you vote for a candidate is important, and in 2016, Trump was far better at it than Hilla. You could see it in the crowds. Voter morale and enthusiasm matter and Trump has more of it than Biden. He can whip up a crowd better than Biden. I'll grant you Trump voters are likely voting more for the man than his policies but from where I stand Trump has more charisma than Biden to your basic undecided voter. And in another parallel Hilla was also literally the worst candidate the Dems could run and also the only one who could lose to Trump. Heck, had Bernie won the Dem nom, I woulda voted for him over Trump, and Bernie was a pretty bad candidate himself. But the thing is, Trump can bring out the crowds better than Biden can at the moment and the Dems need to have the self-awareness to ask why that is. I'm honestly baffled as to why they're not. I'm just a nobody teacher in a nowhere town and even I can see the obvious. It's frankly astonishing to me that Trump has gotten this far, I was absolutely sure he was politically finished after 2020. Then again, people thought that about Nixon in 1960, so ...

It's been a long time since I started a thread but I'm thinking about doing one where I ask posters which fictional character would they put down as a write-in candidate for Prez.

"Those sucking on the public tit" are as American as I am and they have as much right as I have.

I am sorry that you don’t like American voting in American election, but that is your problem.
