The government didn't know for days that the Pentagon chief was in the hospital. Is there anyone running the country at any given time>? We don't know. How dangerous is this? A crisis could happen at any time, and it very well might be that there's no one running the government at any given time.

 

Being Biden is president there is no one running the government at any time.

 

I agree that should not have happened.

 

Austin should resign or be fired but because he’s black…firing him would be racist.

 

When someone where I worked was missing and no one noticed, that usually meant that person wasn't needed.

Agree.... very strange.... Cannot imagine what Austin was thinking by not informing ANYBODY in the govt.... he's an important man...

I imagine he and Joe will have to have a sit down when he's feeling better...

 

MAGA will make more of it than is required (as is required by their bosses), but this is not a good look for the SecDef.... He didn't have to say what he was going in for, but he needed to tell Sullivan et al that his deputy would be in the loop for the time being..

Fortunately, there were no insurrections requiring military response during this timeframe...

I mean c'mon - when I take a day off from school for any reason, I call the sub-finder and email the office to let them know what's up along with lesson plans for the sub. Heck, my family and I have even discussed what they should do if I suddenly die in a car accident or somesuch, and one of the things on the list is to call/email the school secretary and the district office. Okay, in part so my wife gets her benefits but also to let the school know they haveta get a sub, stat. The office also requires that we keep three days worth of lesson plans available to the admins to hand a sub in case any of us are suddenly incapacitated and are unable to contact the school - just in case. I imagine most schools require the same.

I'd *like* to think the current regime is run better than an elementary school but it looks like maybe not!

It's a fact Democrats now want people to see color. Own it! If Republicans want Austin fired Democrats will make it about his color and not about his serious lapse in judgment.

 

Austin works for Biden. The SOD going missing for several days is a big freaking whoop! Austin telling his underling does not excuse his actions. This is an impeachable offense.

 

Democrats have realized making it about color gives them the advantage. Or so they think.

 

The only people making it about color on this thread are on the Trump side of the aisle.

 

The govt under leftist leadership just doesn't function.

 

If and when Republicans in the House call for Austin's impeachment Democrats will make it about race. Wait for it.
