LOL! Thread win. But, don't you know, back in 2018 we were living in economic paradise, or so the Trump narrative goes, to which the OP subscribes. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who look back to 2018 with rose-colored glasses, which will make it very hard for Biden to beat Trump.
You say that, but I have noticed that they mostly ignore inconvenient truths. They just plow on ahead with their MAGA BS, lies and spin as if the truth didn’t exist.
Largely this is correct. The overwhelming majority of people that can't cover a $1000 emergency expense is 100% self inflicted.
Notice that in the OP, absolutley nothing was said about Biden or Trump, current or previous administrations... yet the usual suspects immediate response is "but what about Trump", and then all the other usual suspects starting chiming in with their radical partisan perspectives about "they like to ignore the inconvenient partisan blah blah blah" Ya'll are so ****ing partisan, you're incapable if ANY conversation on ANY issue that doesn't immediately revert to Republican/Democrat. It's really pretty sad. It is though.
Yes, the economy in 2018 wasn't bad, but by far not as good as the Trump propaganda is trying to portray. 61% of Americans not being able to cover a $1,000 emergency expense doesn't scream of "greatest economy ever". By the same token, the current economy is not great, but also not bad, certainly not as terrible as the Trump propaganda want to make believe. Remember, according to Trump, the stock market would crash under Biden as never seen before. Instead, we are at record levels.
Doller value is very high in Zimbabwe but you may not know this , Zimbabwe is one of the poorest country in the world. Just because value of the dollar is high in RED state doesn’t make life in RED state better.
Try reading some of the sites that are posted in my original statement. But that might be to much to ask and it would not fit your agenda. Keep up all your ho hum negative attitude.
What spin? You are talking about people having to put daily expenses on a credit card and @Boilermaker55 directed you to where Biden is calling out corporate greed for the high prices. But that doesn't fit the narrative of Biden Bad, so it must be spin.
It sure was the same in my day. My parents did have a small savings stash but most of us lived paycheck to paycheck for decades. The difference though is the spread between incomes and costs. I used to be able to live in a room on Manhattan Beach, CA on waiters tips alone. Now, they make a bit more that is taxed thanks to Ronnie but rents, gas, food, insurance, etc are all triple or quadruple what they were in 1980
the tired old corporate greed meme of the Democrat party and the assertion made by a man who never started a business or worked in the dreaded private sector Forgive me if I won't accept a business lecture from Joe Biden
You are exactly right. It does not fit the agenda of the OP to try to own the "Libs", so to speak. Any real information about why prices are high at this time that do not fit the agenda of the OP will be, according to the OP, irrelevant.
Those people who could not afford a 1k unexpected bill under Trump are simply democrats who were never taught how to save properly...
I put it in the same 'disinformation' category as the border bill. Trump tells his toady speaker that he must not put it up for a vote. And if/when he doesn't, we will be reading all kinds of excuses for why it was a bad deal and needed to be rejected. Never mind that we read figurative screaming from them about the open border - they will not agree that this bill will have done a good job to rectify the border.
I don't get the relevance of this. 56% of Americans have cable or satellite. The average American spends $3500 eating out every year. The average person spends $144 a month on a cell phone. Cut your cable and maybe your internet, get a flip phone, and eat out half as much, and you'll save some money. I have no sympathy here. It's not a sign of bad economic times if Americans don't have $1000 saved. It's a sign that Americans aren't managing their money. You're not entitled to the lifestyle that comes with living beyond your means. It will eventually catch up to you. Democrats think theft is okay because they want nice things. It's all the same mentality. I get it, the inflation of the past few years means your dollar isn't going as far. The highest percentage of Americans in history were living paycheck to paycheck in 2022 and 2023, but you still have to manage your finances.
If one notices the posts by OP, when confronted with facts that do not support the agenda it is totally ignored or it is a maga blanket statement. Such as..."the tired old corporate greed meme of the Democrat party"..but all the reports and information say the exact opposite.
