And here's yet another example of Bidenomics and NBC makes it about color.

Here's the deal and it's explained in the article. The LA Times recently hired people based on race, but like most unionized companies, layoffs are based on seniority, not merit or color. So what does the left focus on? Color, all while they were hired because of their color, kinda ironic, isn't it?

I've managed unionized techs in the past and the contract had a clause stating techs with seniority get preferential treatment, and if layoffs needed to happen, then that was also done by seniority with the lowest people on the totem pole going first.

I've always said that putting seniority in union contracts was stupid and makes the most senior employees lazy and needlessly protected. More than likely, if the Times is anything like where I worked, some of their best employees were let go and some of the worst were allowed to stay.

Watching the MSM die is one of the few true pleasures I have in life. I quit watching them over a decade ago. I prefer watching independent content creators clowning on them.

    "Firing black employees am racist!"

"But we only hire black employees."

    "It still am racist!"

You might want to reach out to NBC for that because they're the ones who made references to journalists of color and marginalized people. I think I know where you're going and do you really want to open that door?

As a side note, I'm reminded of a scene from "Sanford and Son":

at 1:39 the Cop asks: "Were they colored"
    pause..
    Then Fred answers: "Yeah white"
    LOL!

Employees from the LA Times recently walked off the job and then the layoffs came. Now employees of the Daily News are doing the same thing.

Daily News workers walk out to protest owners Alden Global Capital who ‘shrink the budget to fill their pockets’

New York Daily News staffers walked off the job Thursday– the paper’s first work stoppage in three decades — to protest “chronic cuts” by its hedge fund owners that “shrink the budget to fill their pockets.”

I'm wondering if this helps, it's from the article:

“The company has reneged on its promises to diversify its ranks since young journalists of color have been disproportionately affected,” the Los Angeles Times Guild said in a statement Tuesday. “The Black, AAPI, and Latino Caucuses have suffered devastating losses. Voluntary buyouts could have helped prevent this, but that’s not the path the company chose.”

If I have a color can I go to events meant only for people of color?

The LA Times and the Chicago paper are the world's worst Nazis when it comes to walling off their content. I won't cry when either goes under.

The problems at print media predate Biden. The industry has been in pretty steady decline since the internet became widespread.

The thing is, the Times laid off journalists, those are the people who write content that can be placed on line.

Right but with paper sales declining and online sales not replacing them, this was always going to happen eventually.

The layoffs are highly targeted. Apparently their Washington DC bureau, sports, and business desks will be heavily purged all the way up up to management level positions

Here is the sample of the stellar work that the laid off POCs were generating. Whatever will self-hating whites do to fulfill their masochistic desires if biting insight like this is lost? It certainly won't affect me because I don't read trash but I do a feel some pity for progressive whites. I am pouring out a beer as I post this in recognition of their loss.

D'oh! They were once a big deal. They used to give me tickets to games in their suite at Staples Center because I spent a lot of money advertising. Now, they can't give away their ad space.

I spent many years until recently in print media. Through the years saw the circulation drop, the ad revenue drop, the cuts, the reorganization, from 100 reporters less the half that. You gotta have money to pay for your stuff. The NY Union workers on strike seem to lack the reality of the situation.

So I have some questions. Since it seems like newspapers are moving to online circulation instead of print, don't they still need reporters to fill their websites full of stories and don't companies advertise with them?

The issue you are missing is that the LA Times is a Democrat supporting newspaper. They claim to be all about DEI until such time as it affects their own business

They do, however the digital revenue--ad rev and subscription rev can't pay for the reporters. The value isn't there yet for the advertiser and thus the revenue is much less. Instead of more reporters for more local content--media is sharing generic stories from other sources and cutting costs that way. Reporters with tenure and larger salaries are laid off and new reporters out of college are hired with much less pay.

All traditional media-print, radio, TV--are attempting to become digital marketers--many of my past clients never ran a print ad---they were in facebook marketing, google adwords etc. This revenue helps but print media hasn't been able to cover costs with this digital arm yet. And just fyi--local TV stations are struggling too---they just don't write stories about their demise like print media does--- lol

You are right, seeing MSM taken down like this is like dream come true. Just wait for Dominion’s other law suit against Newsmax, ONN. Sweet .. very sweet.
