McDonald's has missed a key sales target, partly due to customers boycotting the firm for its perceived support of Israel.

The fast food chain reported its first quarterly sales miss in nearly four years due to weak growth in its international business division.

Its boss previously acknowledged the impact of the conflict, blaming "misinformation".

Shares in McDonald's fell about 4% after the announcement.

McDonalds is one of several Western corporations including Starbucks and Coca Cola that have seen boycotts and protests agains.

iPersonally haven't been to macD since October 7. Besides, the last time iDid go, it was a 20 minute wait and the fries were stone cold. Heaven only knows why ppl order MacD deliveries, the food must be ice cold. Theyve really gone downhill nearly as fast as burger king.

Hell, maybe they can start getting their drive thru orders out correct and in a timely manner, what with the customer volume dropping.

Weve got a couple of Wendy's in UK now and I've tried it, tastes nicer albeit about £1-2 more expensive but I'd pay that extra for a hot burger.

I'll pick Wendy's over McDougal's any day, but nothing can touch Whataburger.

Whataburger is a family-owned Texas chain.

They are known for being open 24 hours a day and were able to keep it up during and after Covid. A long time ago, I would eat there when I had a night shift. Their food tends to be fresh and their hamburgers come with all the fixings with mustard standard but you can ask them to fix it anyway you like. They have salads, chicken, and breakfast too.

I had one many years ago, and it made me sick as hell, lol. I love most of Wendy's burgers though, but haven't had it in years. I do my best to avoid fast food at all costs. But yeah, definitely better than McDonalds.

The bigger reason IMO is the fact that a Big Mac Meal at McDonald costs more ($12.00) than a real burger with fries at a place like Applebee's, and at Applebee's you can sit down, order a beer and watch a ball game.

Something is up with fast food pricing. I generally don't do Macdonald's, etc. but I did recently and their pricing is totally absurd and the food has shrunk. They are likely serving less but turning more bottom line with that pricing model.

They capitalize on laziness off their customers. Fast food it easy because you can order food without even getting out of your car. You get the order in minutes, and can take it home and eat in front of your TV. People don't mind paying more for such convenience. I hardly ever buy junk food, but I do remember going to Wendy's last year, and the combo meal was over $10.00.

Many, especially in the food industry, are using a COVID supply chain issue business model still. They were able to measure how to serve slightly fewer but for more profit and reduced cost.

My kids want to go there every day. They end up going once or twice a week. I was the same when I was a kid. I don't love it now like I used to, but I think it tastes the same. I just don't find it exciting enough anymore for it to account for my ration of unhealthy food.

I only go to Wendy's because they're the only fast food place with decent chili.

Right now Sonic is running a special where they selling a quarter pound double cheeseburger for just $1.99. McDonald's here in California often is $10 just for a quarter pounder.

The New York Post recently wrote an article on some McDonald's locations selling a big Mac combo for $18 and a single hash brown for $6. McDonald's sole reason for existence is to be fast and dirt cheap. If they can't nail that then there is no reason for them to exist.

Not overseas. McDonald's is able to pay at least $22/h + 30 paid vacation days +public holidays +unlimited sick days in Denmark, and the prices are around 3 Euros a Cheeseburger. McD's in all of Europe are clean and not that cheap.
