Super Bowl 2024 was most watched US TV broadcast since 1969 Moon landing

This year's Super Bowl was watched by an average of 123.4 million people in the US, making it the most watched broadcast since the 1969 Moon landing.

Preliminary US TV ratings put Sunday's game just behind Apollo 11's historic landing, which was seen by an estimated 125 to 150 million people.

Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime.

Taylor Swift's highly anticipated attendance to watch boyfriend Travis Kelce may have boosted the figures.

I like Taylor Swift, her music isn’t bad and she doesn’t seem like she’s too bad a person, in fact I assume she’s fun to hang out with.

Travis Kelce, on the other hand, seems like a massive dickhead.

 

5-6 yrs ago, the NFL was going the way of the dodo bird.
All those old white men got mad at them and boycotted them so they would lose viewers and die.

Preliminary being a key word here. The first pass count includes linear and platform viewership. Linear being easy enough to track but platform counts take analysis with the initial figures counting all established connections as views. Problem here is that the Paramount+ platform was experiencing massive outages throughout the entire game. So there were millions of connections being established throughout that were not unique viewers but rather people re-connecting because service had crashed - and initially they're all counted. We wont see the true numbers until $PARA earnings, at which point I'm fully confident the media will correct itself (lol).

Not so much a manipulation as it was a rush to report. PARA is courting buyers; it was expected of them to release news the day after. But the true count takes analysis, which takes time, which is why shares didn't respond because it's known that the true data will come around ER, probably before if they're going to run up the class A's before announcing the formation of a speccom to review bids (which is what ppl are expecting to hear).

 

He a very competitive person. Most athletes are. Dont read too much into his actions with the coach, as most competitive people are that way.Yes, he could have acted better with Coach Reid, but remember that it happens on the biggest drive of of the biggest game of the year, the Super Bowl.

 

The man is a neanderthal and his behavior was in keeping with such; performing as expected.

Well at the end of that 4 hour contest, where so-called athletes spent less than 10 total minutes in motion, one herd of cavemen was going to end up with more points than the other.

I feel sorry for the hotel staff that had to clean up the post-game orgy Taylor and her entourage threw. Can you imagine the state of that suite?

 

Couldn't watch past the first half. The childish graphics were a serious put off for me. I guess I have advanced in age past where the NFL wants its viewers. Congratulations to the Chiefs.

Why do people stop liking the things that made them forget their problems for a while? What happens to people?

The average professional soccer player will spend more time in motion during a single game than the average NFL player will throughout their entire career. Yet they're both referred to as athletes.

 

I wasn’t even just referring to his little bit with Andy Reid, I was also thinking about 2 weeks ago in the Championship game he was apparently acting like a dick towards the Ravens kicker during practice.
