Trump had the border more secure than ever. The house passed HR2 which secures the border, it's a stand alone bill, and Schumer won't take it up in the Senate. When Biden rants and raves about sending a border security bill to his desk, why won't Schumer send him that one?

It was not a great deal different from what is happening how. Furthermore, how was the president going to measure that number? Would Biden enforce the law? He has a profoundly miserable record on that.

Only Republican as senile and devious as Mitch McConnell could have not seen through this bill as a Democrat trap. If you passed it, the Democrats got almost everything they wanted short of an open border. If you didn't pass it, you blame the Republicans. Perfect!

1. Your math is way off. 5001 encounters closes the border. One can't have 1,825,000 encounters if the border is shut down at 5001.
2. With more border patrol and more barriers more of the encounters will be caught and turned back.
3. With a faster more effective processing fewer people will remain in country for a shorter time.
4. the average number of daily encounters is over 5000 a day and the border is not being shut down.
5. Biden gave the House what it asked for. They refused it, won't discuss it, and still are trying to blame him.

The House of Representatives wants to wait 11 months before trying to come up with a different program. If they do this one can be assured that unless conservatives have control of all 3 branches of government it will fail. They are asking the American People to gamble on something that has long odds.

Trump really eff'd everything up for himself when he held that stupid January 6 rally and insisted that Pence could overthrow the election result. Pence couldn't. When the court cases were exhausted, it was over. I could told them from the start that the courts were not going to overturn the election. They only get involved when the country's back is against the wall, like after the 2000 election. Even even then, you had one old fart, John Paul Stevens, whom Republican Gerald Ford appointed, who would not accept the result.

Trump is unhinged, and it's understandable. The trouble is he needs to face facts. The country is more important than him. The Democrats have succeeded to demonizing him, and they have him tied up in court so he can't run. He's also 78 years old and needs to face facts. He had a good term as president. When and if historians become objective 50 years from now, he'll get credit for that.
