    Hardly. This from #71:
". . . . This done throughout nearly all fields of science even disciplines like cosmology where one group is studying one factor whilst others are studying other factors, each a part of the puzzle. Until a systematic review nd meta analysis are done the full picture is not clear. It is this process that scientists refer to as consensus. . . ."

Bolded words clearly refer to outcomes, not processes.

. I have yet to see a word about any of this, and have asked you repeatedly to cite some sources.

Sounds good! We can talk world climate science if you're game. Lots of folks say the earth is dangerously heating up because of human damage to the greenhouse effect. Is that your understanding?

I pointed to the need for a broader study than science done in one area. That is process.

    There are lots of sources.

Here's one based on Goldman Sachs:

Comparing China's coal activity to other country's coal activity doesn't say anything about China's direction or its progress. One has to look at China over time.

This is more important to look at:
    https://www.statista.com/statistics/302191/china-power-generation

This shows that China IS increasing thermal power (coal, etc.), but clean energy is increasing at a significantly higher rate.

Given the immediate problems of climate, water for hydro, and their pathetic grid (as noted in your cite), let's hope they fix their grid and continue their clean energy plan.

It sounds like their grid is even worse than our own! Maybe their grid has the same problem as ours in that clean energy projects are hard to attach to the grid, leaving the US with a wait list of clean energy projects.

You are still ignoring the most important issue with China - what progress they are making.

Single points in time and comparisons with one source of electricity with that of other countries just don't do that. At All.

What I showed is that a growing percent of China's3 energy is coming from clean energy sources.

Just like in the USA, accomplishing clean energy MUST happen over time.

I wish that were faster, but I don't vote in China. And, we have serious work to do right here in America, where we have full control.

Progress? Building the most coal plants in the world is progress. I saw a piece the other day saying they're aiming to meet the requirements for a major nation by 2030; they currently have "developing nation status".

Once again, you seem to think that pointing to one thing demonstrates a pattern!!

And, you think it tells the whole story without looking at what else they are doing.

Neither of those methods is valid.

Plus, they are leading the world in wind and solar patents, manufacturing, installation and export.

Do you think we will catch up? I hope so. But, there is a LOT of the USA that is fixated against clean energy and not interested in grid improvement.

Facts are always valid. You still have demonstrated the wonderfulness of China's programs. They have a massive collection of coal plants and according to the article I linked they're still building. The DOMINATE coal-fired generation. You still haven't presented any substantial evident that they're making their obligations.

Sorry no. The facts I've presented represent a pattern.
So, they're making a fortune selling to gullible westerners. I'd like to see some actual data to substantiate those claims, BTW.
Mostly because it is wasteful, ultra- expensive and unnecessary.

We have tons of natural gas, so we do that. They don't, but they have coal, so they do that.

Like everybody else (I hope), I wish coal would die here, China and everywhere else - along with other fossil fuels.

But, I'm glad that China is providing world leading clean energy technology, and is installing that faster than they are installing all fossil fuel plants, including coal.

It will be interesting to watch China's oil consumption as they move toward EVs.

You have to be more reasonable about analyzing what China is doing. China is not the USA and their assets as well as needs are not the same as ours.

It's not just about what they are doing just this month with just one of there number of fuel sources for electricity. That is NOT a scientifically valid method of analysis of their energy progress.

You make it sound like China and the West are all just one big, happy group hugging crew at summer camp.

The con by China couldn't be more obvious. "If the West is really intent on shooting themselves in the privates over this dumb 'climate change' baloney by voluntarily degrading their industrial infrastructure while we claim to be a developing country doing whatever we please and selling them the gun to use, heck, let 'em!"

I'm reading elsewhere that Chinese EVs are decimating European EVs in Europe as we speak. And that moron Biden is plowing ahead with his program to ban ICE by 2035, leaving the US in inevitable collapse by the time China even has to say what their plans to reduce CO2 are in 2030.

    It's hilarious. Go Loper!

    Absolutely:
    - They emit more greenhouse gasses than any other country.
    - They are experimenting with reducing their oil consumption and healthcare by strongly moving toward EVs.
    - They are the world supplier of solar and wind technology, including for the USA.
    - They are ahead of everybody (except possibly NASA) in battery technology. (NASA has serious interest in solar panels and batteries for obvious reasons.)
    - They are intending to be the world supplier of automobiles, and have set the fundamental groundwork for that, with US legacy auto retracting from foreign markets for cars. I believe the US auto industry is important.

    We're not degrading anything.

Yes, people in other parts of the world are buying Chinese cars (BYD, MG, etc.) and choosing not to buy cars from our legacy manufacturers - Ford, GM, Stellantis, etc.

They ARE buying Tesla. The Tesla model Y was the world leader in sales last year.

Tesla is the only US based manufacturing company that is making money by manufacturing and selling EVs.

I've done this several times. It never gets a response, so I'm not very motivated to do the work.

Also, nobody cares enough to try to show where I'm wrong.

I'll do it again at some point, but I'm too busy right now.

Did you register for statista? They give good info. One of the problems is that everyone wants the really cool analysis but demands that it be all found on sites where registration isn't required.
