I got it from a business called track of the Wolf.
They sell all sorts of muzzle loading supplies as well as lots of historical reenactment sort of things, clothing and such.

I was already buying some round lead ball and a powder measure so I figured what the hell, it's only three bucks.

Here are a few 1864 Confederate notes.

In 1864, it is hard to imagine that a 50 cent note could buy much of anything.

    T-72 1864 50c.jpg

The 1864 $20 note may be the most common Confederate note.

    T-67 F 1864 $20.jpg T-67 R 1864 $20.jpg

The $500 note was the second Confederate note of that denomination. It is very popular with collectors today because of the appearance of Stonewall Jackson. For that reason it sells for high prices, $500 to over $1,000, because of collector demand. It is actually fairly common. This note has only one side. The reverse was seized when a blockade running was intercepted by the North. This note is sometimes seen in a pink color because the ink was frequently watered down. This note is considered to be "red."

Judah Benjamin, who appeared on the $2 note was the only Jewish member of the Confederate cabinet. After the war, he fled to England where he became a major force in the legal system there. He was brilliant man who backed the wrong side. This note had no back because it was considered to be a waste to have a back on 50 cent, 1 dollar and 2 dollar notes. $2 notes are harder to find than the other denominations.

That is just a claim at the moment. The council say.
The extensive rainfall has led to some pump failures due to the high levels of use, which may explain why some communities in the Broads are seeing higher water levels for longer than usual after flooding incidents.

"Our partners at the Internal Drainage Boards already have work underway to replace those pumps affected and ensure water can continue to drain away effectively."
The whole area around the Ouse valley is also flooded, the Ouse does not go through Yarmouth.
It will be interesting to see if the threatened law suit gains traction.

In other news, I patched the street leading to my house (it's dirt) rather than waiting for thecitty to repair it (after they fixed the water leaks of months and left a sizable trench across it were they pushed dirt back into the trench thye made to fix the leak)

Well done mate. :) I wish we could be more independent of our local government. Do more for ourselves as a village.

The week end was pretty wet here with over 4 inches of rain. We had some really fierce lightning going on when the front moved it.

My father could bud and graft anything but before I was interested he was gone. He kept bees and those bees knew him, he definitely had a gift with plants, animals and bees.

    LOL. I didn’t know I had a sister.

My dad grafted fruit tress and was a beekeeper as well. Unfortunately I didn’t inherit natural ability for development of either skill.

We put in at Lake Griffin and went up the Oklawaha to the Silver River. It was a nice trip.

We always had fruit to eat when I was growing up. Parents are always supposed to be around to teach things when you get interested. I bet your father's bees knew him too.
My father was good with rehabilitating birds that were injured. He just loved nature. He would get aggravated about the stupid things developers would do, his comment was, "Nature has a way of claiming it's on. They better be careful." He would really be upset if he could see his state now.

I live by a lake that surrounds our neighborhood. Yesterday, two rabid, vicious geese attacked from behind a grey heron that was just standing there on edge of the lake on my property. He ended up dying and it was very upsetting. I love herons!

I bet you it's been every bit of 26 years since I've been there. Far far too long. Used to be one hell of a rope swing downriver from there about 3/4 of a mile on top of a large cliff ( relative to Florida of course )

Lots of beautiful springs in Central Florida. Not far from that place is juniper springs. And Ocala has some spectacular lime rock quarries that you used to be able to swim in with emerald green water.

My presentation box I am working on.
It started Life as a very plain pine box unfinished...

I sanded the outside and I burned it with a torch and resanded it... Then I stained it.

And now I have taken polyurethane varnish and put a reproduction Confederate $100 bill on top.

On the inside of the box I shall paste a piece of genuine currency that shows the rebels in action.... The back of the $2 bill depicts the founding fathers signing the rebellious declaration of Independence.

So who can tell me who were the worst rebels?

I decided to put this picture of these other dastardly rebels on the inside. Just look at them, rebelling against the king and declaring their self and independent nation! And yes it is a genuine $2 bill. I'm putting coat after coat of polyurethane on top. ( For those who may not know, it is a picture of the founding father signing the declaration of Independence and in my opinion one of our most beautiful bills )

I would just pour a thick coat of that resin and let it cure but that stuff is rather expensive.

Hey Cat, it is so good to see you posting, were the geese tame or wild? We have a a few herons come in on a pond that is down hill no geese fortunately. A good animal to control geese would be a border collie, they will keep the geese flying and they won't harm them.

There is a yard near here that has a small blue flower that is blooming now. I wonder if it is a relative of the flower you are growing. It is a beautiful little blue flower that grows close to the ground.
