If that is fraud, more people should do it. Fraud in which no one lost a penny and the banks made money.

Define "fraudulent". If a bank asks ME what my property is worth, I'm going to throw out the biggest realistic number I can.

If the bank takes my word for, that's what's known as an "arm's reach agreement" and it's on the bank, not me, if I'm wrong.

 

So then Trumps case should easily be overturned if, as you say, there was no fraud. Cool. Looking forward to it.

 

If I went into a bank and claimed my home as collateral and said it was worth twice what it is worth, the bank would merely turn me down for the loan.

 

He has been a shyster long before he entered politics. He has a history of unethical and illegal conduct. NO ONE is doing it to him. He has done it to himself. He continues to blame everyone , including the kitchen sink for his problems.......but that is just more of his LIES. Spin and self pity victim role. He sees things in terms of winning andlsoing. Thatkind of narrow, shallow binary mental construct is not realistic ...but then he is not facing reality.
After the court session today......he spewed more of his repetitive garbage . It was immediately fact checked again....and every word is a lie. He is angry, petulant and does not want to take responsibility for his actions. NO ONEELSE would get away with the garbage he gets away with. Sadly, in HIS mind, he is exceptional.......and that makes him sick/ delusional. He continues to see winning the Presidency as his "get out of jail card. When that is the motive for funning for POTUS........there is a big problem. Those that over look or ignore that are just deluding themselves.

 

But none of that was in the court action.

I do not disagree with most of what you say. However, the fact remains this was an absurd court case that should not have been brought and the majority of the population recognizes it for what it is, a political stunt to get him out of the race.

I fail to see the fraud and that is my point. No one lost any money and they have not prosecuted anyone else for a similar offense.

It’s beyond comical people think fraud can only occur when someone loses money as a result of said fraud.

Fraud involves the false representation of facts, whether by intentionally withholding important information or providing false statements to another party for the specific purpose of gaining something that may not have been provided without the deception.

Trump was found to have committed fraud by falsifying business records, issuing false financial statements, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and conspiracy to falsify business records.

 

The bank agreed to the appraisals and the loans and indicated they would have been happy to do it again. If Trump is guilty of fraud, then so are the banks.

It is comical when NY has not prosecuted anyone else under similar circumstances.
