The whole point of taking a bill from the senate is to NEGOTIATE it's ;provisions, go back and forth until both houses have something they both can accept, and he won't even let the process begin.

You can't compare the world of 18th century and antebellum presidents to the world of today, that's nuts. Salaries for presidents in those days were miniscule, anyway,. and they didn't have things like a 'blind trust'. Just about all of the modern presidents who had considerable wealth producing enterprizes put them all into a blind trust while president. Trump didn't. He used a 'revocable trust which allows him to control his businesses.

Tell that to Lincoln, FDR, Johnson, and many of the accomplished presidents in history who started out as lawyers.

You missed the point-- the whole point of the house taking the sen. bill is to negotiate it's provisions so they go back and forth until both houses agree. But the speaker won't even do that and you don't give a damn. Besides that bill as written will pass both houses

 

That bill is a non-starter. It should have been simply a bill to secure the border. Handle the other garbage later in seperate bills.

Trump had the border more under control without the bill. It would have been even more under control, if Biden had gone ahead and built the wall. But, Biden was not going to do anything that Trump might get credit for.
