I know this. When I show respect to those on the political right, I find that I have much more interesting and informative discussions with them. When I am antagonistic I find that they toss it right back in my face. Because of this I have come to prefer the former to the latter.

As for congressional Republicans, they are pandering to their base in a way that resonates with them. Politics and theatrics seem to go hand in hand.

Before you say something stupid like "gay people actually can have children" understand that it's only through the help of a third party of which means that the rate of gay couples procreating is incredibly low to the point that no society would survive relying on their ability to procreate.

Also if you think "promoting" any kind of heterosexual or homosexual behavior is actually going to change someone's sexuality then you don't understand it at all.

 

Who is being coddled??? Not the issue. The issue is being accepted as fellow human beings. Nothing more , nothing les. If a group is constantly being condmened for whatever reason.that group witll "fight" to be accepted in ways that get people's attention.
When humanity evolves to the level of objective acceptance of all people, genders, handicaps etc....only then will it have made real progress. In the meantime human rights play the big role in getting there.

Rush was the seed that broke this whole country. Rush seeded that white american born men (who were the majority and in complete power) were somehow repressed. He started that back in the 80's. I have said many times that Rush was the precipice to all this white rage. White males ran this country, made the lions share of incomes, and had all the real power, yet he convinced everyone that the brown man was here to steal you blind and that they were going to steal your family from your american dream. He created evil in anything liberal, while ironically claiming that he was speaking for the downtrodden, the weak, and the weary. He espoused that the democratic party was evil and that they were here to become dictators and they would become dictatorial and take over america. Cut to today and we have the same message, but in the ultimate irony, it is the right that tried to overthrow free and fair elections because their guy didnt win, and today claim that what they are doing in installing a someone who told them he would be a dictator, that it is the other guy who wants to overthrow democracy.

Truth has no place in the right wing anymore, just their feelings and their white rage.
