Does FOX tell you what to think or tell you what I think? All news organizations are biased and always have been. It's up to the reader to understand his/her own position and to reject the propaganda side of the articles. We can get an understanding pf the other side without brainwashing.

70% roughly of what federal government does goes beyond what the constitution outlines as its appropriate roles and activities. Obviously, operating media is one of those activities. In fact it flies in the face of the first amendment because it is propaganda aimed at the American public. The freedom of speech is meant to be freedom from government interference. They forgot to include freedom from government domestic propaganda. I agree with your position. I view NPR as one of thousands of unconstitutional activities in federal government.

I think the difference is that the right operates from a position of common sense. We have no fear of the opinions. They seem to fear opposing opinions. I'm not sure why.

    Absolutely. That was my point

Some more than others, and FOX is one of the most blatant ones, and I said all US main outlets are a waste of time.

Clearly lot of people cannot get an understanding, because they repeat the MSM talking points word-for-word

LOL. I wish they did, but don't. They operate from position of partisan politics.

It is so common for people to blame others for what they themselves do.

Yes, like FOX accusing NPR for partisan bias. That was their headline "news". LOL. They can't see the irony in it.

    Let's compare

Fox News (foxnews.com) – Bias and Credibility

Overall, we rate Fox News right biased based on editorial positions that align with the right and Questionable due to the promotion of propaganda, conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, the use of poor sources, and numerous false claims and failed fact checks.

NPR (National Public Radio) – Bias and Credibility
    [IMG]
Overall, we rate NPR (National Public Radio) Left-Center Biased based on story selection that leans slightly left and High for factual reporting due to thorough sourcing and accurate news reporting.

The threat to NPR is not Fox News. It's NewsNation, which goes right down the middle.

    Just sayin'
In 2018, a writer in the Columbia Journalism Review described Media Bias/Fact Check as "an armchair media analysis"[25] and characterized their assessments as "subjective assessments [that] leave room for human biases, or even simple inconsistencies, to creep in".[26]

Creep in? LOL. Lets face it, US main outlets ARE biased, and FOX is the most blatant one. They don't eve try to hide it. I hear MSNBC is as bad, but I never watch them, so I don't know. CNN is certainly biased to the left, but not as bad as FOX. My recommendation is to stay away from all of them. CNN seems to have good coverage on the ground when there is a big live event, but I use FUBO, and they do not have CNN in their lineup so it is what it is.

Not sure how news outlets are "threats" to each other. They all have their audience who want to hear what they want to hear.

There are some smaller outlets which are balanced, as you mention. I also like to read foreign papers to get other angles to issues.

Do you have any kind of proof of that statement? There isn't much "moderate" news out there to pick from.
Its up to the general public to use their brains and figure it out for themselves.
    Example:
    Same story with different spins:

Right wing news - illegals, mostly tattooed single male cartel members flood the border with fentanyl

Left wing news - innocent 20 year old tattooed male refuges cross the border seeking a better life and to sell pharmaceuticals.

Reality - People are crossing the border illegally and some bad apples are getting in.

You can't expect the media to THINK for you, however, if you do know some moderate news sources (truly moderate ones, not left wing news in disguise), by all means, please share!

I think in order to see where we agree or differ one has to hear from both sides. CNN is, to me, the left leaning program that isn't batshit crazy. I watch them for live coverage of major events like wars or catastrophes. Day to day they still pay the bills and I watch FOX for my own peace of mind

Gee, you covered a lot of ground there. Going so far as to leave out the part about the agenda driven content right wing media promotes. All the way to making the unconnected claim about a acronym that's supposed to be banned from the board because it's silly while simultaneously being inaccurate.

But when the Mueller report found no credible evidence of collusion...........

Ooops, what's he talking about? http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-ubiquitous-meme-from-trump-loyalists.601357/

Standing on your head? You see things inverted from reality. Backwards, upside down, reversed..... as to who is who.

Oh people do change their minds here. I’ve changed my position a few times.

But it doesn’t typically happen through trolling

If you are wanting a broader point to be made to the thread as a whole it doesn’t make a ton of sense to quote someone, reference them in said quote and then not even address anything they said.

But as long as you are amusing yourself, carry on.

On the taxpayer's dime no less.
in other news, they are a leading contender for the White House's "War on the Other Party's Disinformation" bureau.

Rather than reflexively giving credence to what he said because it's what you want to hear, examine his words closely. One could say he's telling you what to think. Resist!

I don't get it. I'm a millennial, technically. Where do people millennial and younger get their news, exactly? Or are you saying they don't pay attention to the news unless it happens to be mentioned by some content creator they find amusing?

He's full of crap, imo. It's republicans that left reality, not npr. The main thing he mentioned that raised some concern in my mind definitely wasn't the collusion thing. That was newsworthy. It didn't need a mea culpa. The dismissal of the lab leak theory was the biggest journalism faux pas mentioned. But I don't think it's a matter of political bias, really, just lending excessive credence to authority rather than skeptical journalism. A quality issue, not a bias issue.

I listen to npr here and there when driving. It's annoying when they cover personal interest or cultural stories, or even worse play some terrible music, but their news coverage is curious and unbiased, at least with respect to the truth. From the perspective of a delusional conservative, I am sure it would seem biased, as would reality.

Counterexamples would be great. I'd agree with the characterization, but my fox news viewing hasn't been common lately and I could only stomach so much before.
