Deception By Redaction: More FBI FISA Abuses, This Time Using Fake News In The Washington Post

"Much of the FBI’s wrongdoing remains shielded from public view..."

Anyone in Congress who votes to renew FISA with out 10 year prison terms for folks in the FBI that abuse the power, is likely bought or blackmailed.

The FBI’s deliberately 'mislead a federal court in order to wiretap an adviser to the Trump campaign.'

'The embattled bureau tried to hide its misconduct by redacting information about its actions under the guise that it involved sensitive intelligence information.'

The redactions, 'instead, covers up additional improper behavior by the FBI brass, which initiated and signed off on all four of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act applications to spy on former Trump adviser Carter Page and his contacts within the Trump campaign and presidency in 2016 and 2017.'

The FBI is filled with liars and crooks that illegally spy on political opponents and fix elections.

the corrupt dirtbags of the 'FBI tried to justify continuing to spy on Page in early 2017 by indicating to the secret FISA court that it had verified a rumor about Page receiving dirt on Hillary Clinton from the Russian government and facilitating a “well-developed conspiracy of cooperation” with the Kremlin to swing the 2016 election in Trump’s favor. But the bureau had corroborated no such thing. Its source was a front-page report in the Washington Post – one the newspaper later retracted after determining it was false.'

We previously were fools to think that these corrupt asshats could trusted with this level of power and not use it to assert illegitimate control over Americans and circumvent our representative democracy through blackmail, whitewash, and rigged 'investigations'.

    We are no longer fools.

It's time to remove their authority or subject those that use it to 10 year prison sentences, per count, enforceable by the State and Local Prosecutors of the home state of the person illegally spied on by the Corrupt Dirtbags within the Federal Government.

    Please discuss.

White House Backs Renewal Of Law Enabling Spying On Americans
    [IMG]
    '...amid recent FBI scandals.'

Bribed Joe 'released a report endorsing the renewal of a controversial law which enables US intelligence agencies to spy on American citizens on Monday. This comes amid a heated debate in Congress regarding how such surveillance powers are weaponized against the American people, as well as a slew of scandals involving these capabilities being wielded by the FBI against protesters and lawmakers.'

'Section 702 authorizes a tool used by US spy agencies to conduct warrantless surveillance on Americans. This practice has long been criticized by domestic civil liberties groups because it collects US citizens’ electronic communications including phone calls, text messages, and emails.'

'Unless reauthorized in December, the law will expire. This will be complicated as growing animosity over the spy bureaucracies’ abuse of power continues to prompt stiff opposition and demands for extensive reforms from lawmakers across the aisle and particularly the GOP.'

10 year prison terms, per abuse, prosecutable by State and Local prosecutors, or let it expire.

THE DIRTBAGS OF THE FBI ARE ILLEGALLY SPYING ON SENATORS, PRESIDENTS, AND JUDGES WITH THIS POWER

'Most recently, a declassified court document revealed the FBI improperly searched a surveillance database created by Section 702 to search information about a US senator, a state senator, and a state judge.'

'The improper searches did not even meet the threshold of being "reasonably likely to retrieve" evidence of a crime or foreign intelligence information.'

    NO.

    A couple interesting tidbits:

Section 702 is not the authority abused by the Obama/Biden/Clinton team to try to rig the 2016 election, and failing that to try to drive Trump from office, overturning the election results.

'The provision of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) at issue is not the one exploited by Obama-era FBI leadership, in collusion with the Hillary Clinton campaign, to smear Trump as a Putin puppet. That statute was the original FISA — the process enacted in 1978 to compel the FBI to seek a warrant from a specialized Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) before monitoring the communications of suspected agents of foreign powers (whether aliens or Americans) who were conducting clandestine activities inside the United States. This original FISA process was shamefully used to obtain warrants against Carter Page, a Trump campaign adviser, based on bogus allegations that he — and, derivatively, the Trump campaign — were agents of the Kremlin.'

'Section 702, the surveillance authority that will lapse if Congress fails to renew it, is a different animal. It allows American intelligence agencies to surveil non-Americans reasonably believed to be outside the United States. This is just traditional spying, and conducting it is common sense, if only to defend against the aggressive anti-American operations of Chinese, Russian, and other skilled foreign intelligence services. Yes, intelligence agencies should be zealously overseen by Congress, but it is still an oddity that surveillance of non-Americans outside the United States (i.e., outside the jurisdiction of American law) calls for statutory authorization at all, let alone for approval by a domestic federal court.'

Spying on USA citizens without a warrant, open borders, rigged elections, IRS only auditing conservatives, insider trading by politicians, politicians accepting money from foreign governments, arresting a political opponent -- we better wake up before we are the banana republic.

Yea, this is what we a funding and allowing to continue... Wray can not confirm or deny any wrong doing. spying on citizens, Biden family corruption, FBI at the J6....the Congress needs to nip in the bud that their oversight is not going to matter as the DOJ has their "policy" somewhere in their books that say they are not going to confirm or deny their investigations.... the Congress needs to write a law that puts that to rest, especially in a closed hearing... we are a nation of laws, not DOJ "policy"... the DOJ has run behind this skirt each and every time...

The House voted to renew a powerful surveillance program on Friday, two days after a band of 19 conservative privacy hawks revolted against Republican leadership and blocked the legislation on the floor when their demands were not met.

The vote was 273-147 and was overwhelmingly bipartisan, with both Republicans and Democrats voting in favor of the legislation. Of those who supported the legislation, 126 were Republicans and 147 Democrats.

They might regret piercing Trump's immunity, as this is the same immunity that protects Wray and these corrupt judges and prosecutors.

    Get a warrant...

The FBI is already spying on Americans.... Emails go out of country and come back in on the internet, FISA 101, so ALL these suckers just fueled the fire as all of our emails are fair game... The vote was 212-212..... not 273-147....

19 Republicans stood strong and defeated the FISA bill today, instead insisting on real reform to FISA (no secret courts should be allowed to spy on Americans).

273 voted to spy on the USA citizens without a warrant. That's hard to believe. They sold us out. Give 'em a little power and look what they do.

I suspect it's a combination of blackmailed, complicit, and bought off.

Senate Can Stop Expansion of Govt Surveillance

The House did not just pass reauthorizing FISA Section 702 surveillance authority, it also included an 'amendment that would drive the greatest expansion of government surveillance authority in recent history.'

    The Senate must stop this.

'Section 702 is a legal authority enacted by Congress to enable the surveillance of foreign threats located abroad.'

There is very strong evidence from the Constitution, Case Law, and practice that the Commander in Chief already has the authority to surveil foreign threats abroad, and so has no need of this legal grant of authority.

Instead what the corrupt FBI, DOJ, Federal Agencies, Intelligence Community do is use it to snoop on Americans, particularly political opponents and members of Congress, 'located within the United States whose communications are often caught up in the government’s global trawl of data. Section 702 authority has been used millions of times in recent years to query, or target, Americans’ communications. In the House, reformers proposed an amendment to add a warrant requirement before the government can query a U.S. person’s data. That amendment, which failed in a tie vote, was the primary focus of debate on the bill.'

And I believe it failed on Speaker Johnson's vote.

Now folks have discovered the "Everyone is a Spy" provision buried in this bill.

'As RISAA comes to the Senate, attention is now being cast on another amendment – the “Everyone’s a Spy” provision. This measure concerns electronic communications service providers – big telecom and Internet companies – which obligated them to cooperate with NSA surveillance. These big companies can be compelled to spy for the government, and then be subject to gag orders, forbidding them from telling customers they have been surveilled.'

    Without a warrant?

'The new expanded definition of the Everyone’s a Spy provision is much broader than what many members of Congress thought. It would give the government the right to similarly compel millions of small businesses that provide Wi-Fi, or have access to routers or other ordinary communications equipment, to act as the government’s partners in surveillance. They, too, would be bound not to tell their customers about this surveillance.'

Some Libertarian Law Professors have been looking at something like this for a 3rd amendment action.

'If this became law, millions of American small business owners would have a legal obligation to hand over data that runs through their equipment. These small businesses could be forced to give the NSA direct access to their equipment, or else they might just copy messages en masse and turn them over. And when they’re done with doing their part in mass surveillance, these small businesses would then be placed under a gag order to hide their activities from their customers.'

We know that the FBI is violating existing authorities constantly. Why in the world would we increase their authority?

Please read the whole thing and discuss.

The very people voting on warrantless spying are being spied upon also… everyone has dirty secrets and the FBI whispering in their ear what they know is more than likely the deciding factor in many votes before… nothing like taking the honey away from the bear, likely it ain’t gonna turn out well…

The FBI has more power, and more citizens, than we will ever know -- J Edgar Hoover started the trend of collecting dirt on people he didn't like.

Congress Passes FISA-702 Extension, Allowing Warrantless Document Searches & Electronic Surveillance Of Americans, On Patriots Day 2024
    [IMG]
'Late last night, early this morning (after midnight), the US Senate passed a FISA reauthorization bill that directly and specifically violates every tenant of the 4th amendment...'

Speaker Johnson just bends over for everything.

The fourth amendment to the United States constitution says:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

'Late last night, early this morning (after midnight), the United States Senate passed a FISA reauthorization bill that directly and specifically violates every tenant of the 4th amendment.'

Basically, they tell the court something to get a warrant, but then no one ever does any investigation to see whether what the court was told was actually true.

There's a layer of secrecy and lack of transparency.

It's not like anyone is digging through the records and trying to verify things.
