    ---Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been denied a fifth time for Secret Service protection by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
    ---Mr. Kennedy has been trying to get Secret Service guards for a year. Mr. Mayorkas’ latest denial letter from March 28 said that “based on facts and the recommendation of the advisory committee, I have determined that Secret Service protection for Robert F. -Kennedy Jr. is not warranted at this time.”
    ---Mr. Kennedy‘s attorney, Aaron Siri, shot back at the letter a day later, saying the repeated denials are “capricious, an abuse of discretion and clearly politically motivated.”
    ---

    Come on Biden, do the decent, safe, and practical thing. RFK's attorney is absolutely right. How does Biden sleep at night?

    I guess in Mayorkas' mind, two dead Kennedys ain't enough. After all, why would Mayorkas protect the guy who's going to take away votes from his boss? But Pothole Pete gets a security detail. Go figure.

    Only one republican at a time should be given secret service protection. Y’all can either pick trump or RFK but not both.

    Title 18 U.S.C.' 3056(a)(7) authorizes the U.S. Secret Service to provide protection for major Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates:

    • Protection is authorized by the DHS Secretary after consultation with the Congressional Advisory Committee;
    • The Congressional Advisory Committee includes: Speaker of the House, House Minority Leader, Senate Majority Leader, Senate Minority Leader, and one additional member selected by the others;
    • Protection under these guidelines should only be granted within one year prior to the general election. Protection more than one year prior to the general election should only be granted in extraordinary, case by case circumstances in consultation with the committee, based on threat assessment and other factors.
    When determining whether a candidate for the Office of President or Vice President of the United States qualifies as a major candidate, the Secretary has broad discretion and may consider a variety of factors. These factors include, but are not limited to:

    1. Whether the candidate has publicly announced his or her candidacy and has filed the appropriate documentation with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and is in compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended, and related laws;
    2. Whether the candidate is actively campaigning on a national basis for the office for which his or her candidacy has been announced, as demonstrated by operating a national campaign apparatus, regularly appearing at public events in multiple states, producing and publishing campaign advertisements, and other similar indicia of a campaign;
    3. A threat assessment conducted by the Secret Service of general or specific threats directed towards the candidate (for these purposes, “threats” should be defined as explicit threats of bodily harm to the candidate or indications of inappropriate behavior towards the candidate suggesting potential bodily harm);
    4. Whether, during and within an active and competitive major party primary, the most recent average of established national polls, as reflected by the Real Clear Politics National Average or similar mechanism, the candidate is polling at 15% or more for 30 consecutive days;
    5. Whether the candidate is the formal or de facto nominee of a major party for President or Vice President;
    6. Whether the candidate is an independent or third-party candidate for President polling at 20% or more of the Real Clear Politics National Average for 30 consecutive days;
    7. Whether the candidate is the Vice Presidential running mate of the above independent or third-party candidate.

    May-ork-ass (the border is secure) has nothing to do with it. Biden can tell him to give RFK protection or Biden can tell him not to provide the protection. Biden is the one who makes the decision. Hard to believe Biden's decision. Biden has one opponent charged with crime and is in court and his other opponent is in danger of being assassinated. But then Biden will tell you he's the president of all the people. He'll do what ever it takes to win. Even hide in his basement.

    Secret Service protection IS political. It's granted to presidential candidates who have a realistic chance of becoming President and whose life might be in jeopardy because of their POLITICAL aspirations.. RFK jr has as much of a chance of becoming President as I do. So if he gets it, why shouldn't I?

    I think the assignation of RFK's president uncle and the assignation of RFK's presidential candidate father are extenuating circumstances for RFK who is also now seeking the presidency. It's common sense to protect the man. Why take a chance with a man's life when the solution is so easy.

    Have there been legitimate threats on his life? Has RFK jr been holed up in his house as a result of any threats? Or has he been out and about living his life with no threat to his life whatsoever?

    What color are RFK's eyes? Does he like ice cream? Has he ever seen a naked man?

    Good point.

    I guess it is, along with the Cpap machine.

    So many questions, so little protection.

    THAT is why you think he should have secret service protection? Anybody who has a basic understanding of history knows why JFK and RFK were assassinated: because they were popular And anybody who has less than basic understanding of history at least knows what were NOT the reasons they were assassinated. And anybody who knows even less than that knows that RFK and JFK had a very good chance of winning the elections they were running for. RFK Jr has NONE.

    How many do you have to be campaigning in to get secret service protection? There are dozens of candidates in some states. I'm running in all the ones that allow a write in candidate. Vote Golem!

    Biden wants RFK vulnerable to assassination.

    It's easy to deny someone the courtesy of SS protection when you are being protected by the SS.

    He is funded by trump backed PAC’s and his staff are all trumpers. He just had to fire one for saying their only goal is to keep Biden out of office.

    He is as much a Democrat as trump and you are.

    According to our Constitution RFK is qualified to run for president. If he, and others are on the ballot, then the voters will decide who they want. If Biden loses he won't know he lost.

    Nevertheless he is a democrat. Thanks for the opinion, though.

    I never said he was a Republican. I said he wasn’t a Democrat.

    He is a spoiler candidate at best.

    One day you will be able to respond to one of my posts without resorting to a strawman I have faith in you! Keep trying!
