Police storm Yale University’s campus with riot gear, arrest students as hundreds stage anti-Israel

Police clad in riot gear swarmed Yale University’s Connecticut campus early Monday and started arresting students who had been staging an anti-Israel protest encampment there for several days.

Footage posted online showed cops arriving at the Ivy League school and blocking off entrances to a plaza at the New Haven campus, where roughly 200 protesters had been gathered.

Cops started warning protesters they risked being arrested if they didn’t clear out, the Yale Daily News reported.

It seems as a country we have completely lost any sort of decorum, instead devolving into behavior we are used to seeing in 3rd world countries. We are turning into what our last 50 years of immigrants were fleeing when they came to our country. How did we get here? I blame both parties for pushing a divide and exploiting illegal immigration when it suited their needs. I also blame both parties for attacking free speech and other liberties we enjoyed as citizens. Whether its Minnesota, Jan 6, college campuses, etc..... we need to find non-violent ways of sharing the message and we need leaders to promote non-violent methods.

The anti semitism is crazy today on the left. I mean a few years ago they were calling everyone Nazis now they're literally openly supporting Hamas and the radical Iranian terrorist that want to do the same thing hitler wanted. You , and others, may not like what has happened, but to condemn it just because "this crap would never have happened" when you were there is overly simplistic and a very backward looking viewpoint. If you want to make a challenge based on merits or other criteria, by all means.

To discuss the one point you raised in your post, 95% of you may have stood in solidarity with your many Jewish friends, but time has passed and the state of Israel has committed many acts, including killings, that have eroded whatever moral high ground upon once they stood. Couple that with the changing demographics in this country and, over time, that 95% solidarity has changed. If you wish to resurrect the past, good luck to you. If you wish to deal with the present, make a convincing, rational argument.

Personally, I am not happy with either side. I am not about to abandon Israel. At the same time, I don't like the way they are not working toward a lasting peace with their neighbors. If they could make peace with Egypt, why is this pimple called Gaza such a problem ?

You don't have to be a student to be on a college campus. I bet 90% of those protesters aren't students. Just the rally there as it is a way to get more interest from the commie press.

 

I did, class of 1981. ranking student in the department of political science. Jihadist supporters were few and far between. the funny thing (and I have two woke nieces who are recent Yale graduates) is that the vast majority of the useful fools supporting Hamas would be killed-or WORSE-if they ended up in Jihadist controlled areas in the Middle East.
