This war didn't start on Oct 7. You should read up on the history. At 23 years old it appears my knowledge of this conflict vastly outweighs most here .
LOL... Only if the Biden folks fly them in, and get them to NYC where the locals want them to vote....
LOL... Thanks for the example of just how poorly public school in the US is.... Actually, until Oct 7, Gaza and Israel were at peace. And they, after Hamas attacked Israel, they were not. Given the fluidity of your argumentation, every aggrieved nation/state etc, are still at war, then, right? So, at any time, Mexico could come banging on the border and demand we give them back NM and AZ and Socal... right? Or, no wait... Because of your theory, anyone in the old Soviet should be able to take up arms and reclaim their homeland... Critical thinking isn't your thing....
Palestine Israel is the longest running war in the modern era. It didn't start on October 7. In fact this current battle has just recently overtaken a previous battle from a few decades ago as the longest running battle in this war which began in 1948.
You responded to my response to somebody claiming Palestine doesn't exist and Gaza is part of Israel. If Palestine is not part of Israel, then yes, it is a different calculus.
What do you think I am equivocating? Do you mean the phrase "from the river to the sea" that is indeed often equivocated to mean either "Palestine will be free" or "Eliminate Israel", two very different sentiments? I'm not doing that equivocation. I agree that we should be cautious not to. Nettanyahu's party uses the same "from the river to the sea" phrase, and likes to hold up maps showing Israel as including Gaza and the west bank in its borders. I agree that we should be careful not to equivocate and presume different people use the phrase to mean the same things.
It's their, not there. English literature seems somewhat lacking and is due to lack of comprehension skills.
Problem with homophones I've a bad habit of grabbing the first one pops into my head whether it is the correct one or not. And my proof reading skills when I bother to use them are just slightly better than non existent.
What both right-wing and left-wing media reported on and confirmed was that Israel knew of the attack and did nothing. Even Egypt warned them 3 days in advance. Israel wanted the attack to happen to justify slaughtering as many Palestinians civilians as possible.
Just more ammunition for the failure of public eduction. At this point, I demand we start getting refunds....
Did you answer? They are protecting armed terrorists because of support or fear. Those terrorists are the actual enemy, not only of Israel but of the Palestinians. They should be helping IDF to clear Gaza of them. I view it as support but that the basis for my opinion.
Do you have another definition that you would use for people that have lived their entire lives somewhere and have no vote? Their parents and grandparents also lived their entire lives there. You may not like the word but it is the reality.
Neither Gaza nor the part of the West Bank controlled by the PLO are currently Part of Israel, as such they don't get to vote in Israeli elections. Why are you insisting that people in different countries should be allowed to Vote in Israel's elections? Should Poles get to vote in American elections? Tell the PLO to hold elections. And it is called living in a different country not apartheid.
By choice? Did you really say that? Who patrols the country with arms? Who is blowing up everything in sight from jets? Who has killed 13000 plus children and called them collateral damage? BY CHOICE?!!!?!?
Who abandoned Israel to live in Gaza? Why are there millions of muslim Arabs living as voting citizens in Israel? They chose to stay.
I do. I'm old enough to remember most of these conflicts: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_Israel I also remember a brief period of peace negotiated between Bill Clinton and Yasser Arafat, which resulted in the once-revered Nobel committee awarding a peace prize to a former butcher of a terrorist leader. I haven't been able to take Nobel prizes seriously since then. Such a disgusting man being rewarded for nothing more than ending his reign of terror. So, yes, I consider the whole region to be a hopeless mess.
We agree there. Arafat was a died-in-the-wool terrorist. I have never taken the Nobel peace prize seriously. The ones given for scientific advancement are acceptable to me.
